Asking for a friend...

Katherine, on October 1, 2019 at 12:13 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6
Soooo our big day is 25 days away!! Our wedding is October 26 and I’m so freaking excited! It has finally just hit me that holy freaking cow, I’m getting married this month!! Now the only thing is I’m starting to feel anxious. Not with nerves, but because I am an impatient person and want the day to be here already! 😂

So my question for all of you lovely ladies is this: how in the world do you turn your brain off to sleep with all of this excitement floating around in your mind?! Asking for a friend... LOL

Aha I know how that feels. I remember feeling so nervous and excited and a million things going thru my brain. I usually worked out before to tire myself out

Fill your day and time with other activities... work, working out, cleaning, organizing, packing for the honeymoon.

I’m the weekend before you! I’ve resorted to taking a sleep aid sometimes.

Well with anxiety in general, you can try a sleeping pill like benadryl (affects everyone different but knocks me out and helps with allergies), drink lots of water, distract your mind on tv or hands on stuff or reading (depending on you and your brain), eat dark chocolate (helps my fiance), listen to catchy music to distract the brain, make a to do list for home stuff like cleaning, grocery shopping, etc and do that list, workout, do meditation to calm the mind, etc. If none of this is helping, look online for other ways to help reduce anxiety or stress!

I have resorted to the herbal sleep aid, Mid-Nite. It's over the counter and non-habit forming. It helps lull you to sleep and can be used in the middle of the night if you wake up thinking of all those little things. I also find that checking off my to do list and reading right before bed helps. I've had more dreams about my new book than the wedding the last week!
