Asking someone to walk you down the aisle

Maybe a couple months out like when you ask your bridal party. If he needs to buy a special suit to match the wedding party you want to give him time to get it.

I'd ask him the same time you're going to ask your bridal party to be included in the wedding. I would think no more than a year prior would be necessary.

Around the time you ask the bridal party sounds good to me- just like pp's stated. I've asked my mom to do it. She is beyond thrilled since my dad isn't in my life.

I asked my brother to walk me down the aisle a few days after the bridal party proposals. It was done over the phone because he's in the military and stationed in another state. He accepted and was so happy that I asked.

We were eating pizza with my mom, best friend, and her son and I just said “hey, will you walk me down the aisle?!” Brothers aren’t too picky

Probably around 6-8 months before the wedding.

I asked my brother well over a year from our date. Our dad is deceased and my brother walking me is super important to me. I couldn’t wait to ask him! I don’t think there’s a right or wrong time to ask this.
