ATL: Engagement shoot like The Goat Farm?

Samantha, on August 23, 2017 at 7:52 AM Posted in Married Life 0 5

Hi everyone. I stumbled upon The Goat Farm as an engagement shoot location and fell in love. Even FH is impressed, which is no easy feat haha, but emailed to find out they no longer allow public photo shoots Smiley sad Does anyone know of a similar location in Atlanta?

More generally, I want a location that's a little less popular. Piedmont Park and Stone Mountain etc are gorgeous but not what I'm looking for... also our wedding is a woodsy rustic theme so I'd like a little different touch in our engagement pics. Also not huge on city skyline feels. Appreciate any suggestions for this picky bride!

There is vickery creek park in Roswell. They have a beautiful waterfall. There is also Amicalola falls. It is in the North Georgia mountains. There is a gorgeous waterfall and breathtaking views of the mountains.

I've heard you can just sneak into Goat Farm . . Worst they can do is kick you out right?

If you're not feeling that ballsy and are willing to cough up some cash, the Atlanta History Center and Swan House are both amazing with manicured gardens and beautiful architecture. If you're not looking to drop ~$200-300 on photograph fees, Cator Wolford Gardens has a similar look to those--just gotta schedule that in advance.

Whittier Mill Park has a cool mill brick ruin structure that gives kind of a Goat Farm-y look. I've also seen people have really cute shoots in downtown Roswell. Canton Street is well-maintained and colorful--your photographer will just have to get a little creative.

We did our engagement photos at Big Trees Forest Preserve because I wanted a very woodsy look, as we will be getting married inside an old factory loft.

ETA--the Belt Line has plenty of eclectic buildings outside of which you can take photos. The path right between Ponce City Market and Ford Factory Lofts has some quirky little backgrounds especially with Paris on Ponce nearby. Ford Factory has cool windows. Just be aware that people live in the building and might feel watched if they're home, ha
