Attempted to read The Knot forums and...

I know exactly what you mean - the women on the Knot are incredibly catty and downright mean...

the girls here are so much more down to earth!

I always go to see what people are talking about and I can never find a thread on there that is mean? Can you posy a link?

I can not stand the knots Forums, the set up is bad, and people on there are insane! I am also thankful for you ladies.

HAHA my old x GF emailed me saying how sorry she was and wanted to know how wedding planning was going... I was like WHAT! How did you find that out... Of course through the knot HAHA!

Can't blame them though..they are just cranky from the chafing from sitting on their high horses for so long. Perhaps they make a cream for that? Anyways, I've never joined..WW's human interface is much easier to navigate.

I read The Knot a few times and was shocked at how mean those girls are. Not only that, they're proud of it! They were attacking some bride for a really trivial reason, and I almost joined the Knot just because I wanted to post and stick up for her. I think of the WW community as "ladies" (and "gentlemen" for you guys on here!) and the Knot community as "bitches". Haven't been on there since I found WW!

I always laugh when people complain on here. This forum is a playground compared to those biatches.

I do have a Knot account, but I never use it. I've read some of the discussions, and some of the ladies there are total witches! I am grateful for WW too. You ladies and gents can't even touch how some of the ladies act on TK.

I find the mean girls on the Knot to be hilarious. It's so pathetic, really. They are all failing to repress their inner 12 year old selves.

I started over there. The forums were helpful as far as advice but they are uncompromising. And even the regular "mean girls" on TK were appalled at what happened in the one thread you mentioned. That was crazy out of control.

!!! OMG. I just went over there, clicked on the etiquette forums to see what it was all about, I don't even know what to say. I think some of those brides just need some good lovin' to loosen up a bit! I am so thankful for having the friends and family that I have and not having that type of a person in my life. Just.. Wow!

Good lord that was an exhausting read.

The worst is the thread of previous comments that were repeated at the beginning of each comment. That got old really quick.

Ugh, that sad it was such a simple question, I hate when questions turn into something other than what the post was really about... People so get off topic sometimes! ugh. Anyways, I do like the knot but I have learned what forums to stay away from. I have found my local board to be very helpful even though I don't actually post most of my vendors I have found through rec's from the site.

I started off at the knot and was quickly scared off. Girls got mad at me for not wanting to introduce myself and talk about my life, hobbies, etc. I said that I rather keep that offline and just stick with wedding related questions. One poster asked me how I expected to make friends and get people to answer me if I wouldn't open up? Then a bunch of other perils said the same thing. Um, no. They wanted to know all sorts of stuff about me. So I left.

Boredom + misery = TK

Half of the people on tk are on here too...if not more...

I actually deleted my Knot account due to the post OP is referring to. Not only did they spam that poor girl's wedding website guestbook like crazy, but they also found and posted her personal phone number on a thread. It was disgusting. They may make fun of WW for validating bad ideas (which we can definitely be guilty of) but I'll take that over being assholes. I still feel bad for that poor girl. She was from Winnipeg too.

Thought you'd all enjoy this. I frequent the Knot sometimes, mostly to just read posts. This one caught my eye on the Snarky Bride forum. It takes about spies and Grumbledore (a poster on here, at least in the past), WW, and Superman Bride. Sort of weird.

It's hard to believe they can be nastier than some if the feedback I see on here...but I guess they pay to join so feel entitled. Either way, I never understood the need to be ugly to someone asking for advice.

There should be a sticky that gives the rule...if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
