Hey ladies I was just wondering where everyone was with their planning! Everyone keeps telling me I'm doing things early but don't want to wait until the last minute and then be rushing and stressing around. I want to go ahead and book my venue this week so no one else books it.

We have everything booked minus catering. We only need to get a cake topper. Then we are done till we send invitations.

We finally have a date set and a venue. We booked a golf course and club house near us that also has a restaraunt and full bar! Highly recommend places like this to brides who haven’t found a venue yet. they are not charging us a fee to rent the space, as long as we use them for the food and cover the cost of what they would make on a typical Saturday night. So we got a venue and caterer all in one. Check. Still need to book a photographer and a dj. Not sure how soon I need to do this in advance though. I guess sooner is better though so as not to loose the one I want....
Anyone else shocked at how little notice wedding cake caterers need. The lady I found to make ours said she needed less than a week notice! 😬

I’m starting now and mine isn’t until 6/2019 it’s never to early. I would rather be over prepared and ready then not prepared enough. Never know what problems you may stumble across along the way always good to have plenty of time, I think!!! Good luck

Oh wow that is a little notice for cakes, well if she can do it hey cool. But that is super cool that you got a venue and caterer in one. Those are hard to find at a decent price.

    Hello August 2019 brides!
Our date is 8-8-19 and we have our venue, church, Dj, photographer, videographer, and hotel block for guests and after party booked! Smiley smile I’m going to take my time with everything else. I’m just planning for the bridal party proposals! It’s a fun time planning but can’t wait to be married.

I think it's fair to start early; here in Maine a lot of the more picturesque venues are already booking out into August and September of 2019, we're finding. So I don't think it's crazy to start thinking about it. We're doing a lot of information gathering right now and hoping that something that feels right and is affordable bubbles to the surface. Also, I figure we may as well make use of the time, like you said. Book as soon as you know it's what you want -- one less thing to worry about! Smiley smile - Katie

I feel like it's never too early to book the big things! We booked our venue in Sept. Of 2017 along with our DJ & Photographer. Our wedding isn't until Aug. 2019 lol. I also just bought my wedding dress! I ordered the save the dates already too 😂 I like to get stuff done asap!

Hi August brides, our date is 8-11-2019..first thing I did was secured the venue cuz we fell in love with the venue the first visit itself and out of all the venues we visited that was the only one we both loved....now I wanna start doing everything else slowly..people keep telling me it's too early.. But I think the date will approach faster than we think

We got engaged in Feb 2016 and started planning our June 2018 wedding almost immediately. Booking vendors now gives you the advantage of locking in a good price. There's nothing wrong with looking at things to get an idea of what you want..and trust me..your ideas will change over time!

I booked my venue, but that's about it. I booked a microblading appointment for my brows too.. Lol I need to get that done and outta the way. Other than that, I've been scouring Pinterest and Instagram for ideas. I think 1 Yr is about right to start with bookings. The venue is so important! It's a big deal!

My fiancee and I already reserved our date with the venue; deposit wasn't needed right away. We'll be having the ceremony and reception in the same location. Our venue includes linens, food, open bar, pianist for ceremony, cake, and centerpieces. We won't be going with their vendor for the cake and I already spoke to the bakery we'd like to use. We've reached out to the photographer we'd like to use, friend of the family. We also already agreed on save the dates and invitations. Moving right along lol.

I am very ahead but I am a student in college full time and have to do my internship in the spring. I have my dress already my girls dresses tbe guys attired picked out and in mens wear house. I have the venue booked. The hair and makeup booked and the bakery booked. (: I got it done because I have zero free time working and going to school full time. I wish all of you the best of luck planning. I had a blast and still am figuring out little things. (:

We've got most of the major details booked (Venues, officiant, dj, caterer, my dress/shoes). Still working on finding attire for the mothers, bridesmaids, and fathers/groomsmen/ushers. We have to wait now until fall harvest is over to work on some of the smaller stuff (decor, save the dates/invites, cake, professional engagement photos).
When we first started planning we had 3 dates picked out and ended up switching between them at least once because one of our vendor choices was already booked at 1.5 years out from those dates. It wasn't until that point that my FH understood one of the reasons why I wanted to wait a full year to get married.

Venue and DJ are booked. We have a meeting with a DJ and florist this Saturday. I'm going dress shopping for the first time next Sunday, the 28th. Our venue is all inclusive so we don't have to meet with many other vendors. I don't really like the bakery they use for the cake. So I'm going to schedule a tasting with my favorite bakery in the area in February (they advised to schedule a tasting 6 months in advance).

How are you ladies doing with planning? FH and I took a nice break during the holidays. We are heading to Tahoe this weekend to meet with our planner and florist. I am looking for bridesmaid dresses too. The only vendor left to find is a bakery. Can’t believe 2019 is already here! 🎉
