August 2020 North Carolina Wedding

Hi everyone!

My fiancé and I are still planning to have our wedding on 8/29/20 in the outer banks of NC. I know NC is having spikes in their covid cases but I was reaching out to see what other NC brides we’re doing! Stay strong everyone!

Hey Taylor. I'm not getting married this year, but I do live in NC. I know many brides are going off the advice/mandate of their venue. Have you spoken with them about how they plan to move forward with fall weddings? Especially now that face masks are mandatory...

I spoke to my venue only thing that’s changed is face masks at this point when guests are not at their tables. No masks are required at the ceremony bc it’s outside. I’m praying by Sept 4th the masks mandate will be lifted right now its only in effect until July 17th !!! Hopeful

Hi Taylor! How many guests do you have? I think August weddings will definitely happen in NC, but they may need to be smaller and embrace social distancing guidelines! I'd keep checking in with your venue to see what they're thinking.

You can also check out this conversation with more August brides to see how they're feeling:

My venue has now said they will not require masks outside for the ceremony but will require a mask at the reception when people are not at their tables ... I’m hoping by sept 4th the mask requirement will be lifted

I am also getting married in the outer banks but not until October. Our venue is making us wait til a month before to make a final decision. What has your venue said or allowing?

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for checking in. We are still pushing forward and just waiting until the very last minute! At this point, we have uninvited everyone that wasn't immediate family or our wedding party. Our biggest hang up right now is waiting to see if we can have a small, outdoor reception but as of now, that isn't looking too promising. SO we are probably just going to have an intimate ceremony and a celebration back home once life returns to "normal." (hopefully on our one year anniversary?). Our vendors have been wonderful and very understanding of the situation. We couldn't have had a better team!
