Hi there,

I know a lot of people are posting and discussing the current state of their weddings and concerns around it--I wanted to see if ANY of you can give me advice! My wedding is in August (Lord willing) and I'm concerned that if businesses do not open again in May, I will not have the opportunity to do a lot of the 3-4 month projects before the wedding which might cause a domino effect if my wedding is still possible.

Any people getting married in August and have already reached out to their vendors at what your options are in the case that you would have to postpone? What did you say and how did it go? I know a lot of vendors are dealing with really challenging times so I don't want to bother them quite yet BUT I would like to be prepared.

Every day is an emotional roller coaster--one day I feel super upbeat and excited and the next I hear a piece of news that is just scary and it sends me down a dark path. I know that fear is the most untrustworthy but I can't help but want to be prepared. Any advice is so appreciated!

Hoping this will all blow over by August! I’m having to reschedule my bridal shower (supposed to be June 6th) and hoping that’s not the case for my bach in July. I’m a little worried about dress alterations though. I tried on and bought a dress last year out of town and my sister picked it up right before everything shut down so I haven’t been able to try it on or see a seamstress. Our wedding is August 28th and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried at all!

Not too many vendors for us to contact as we’re getting married at city hall in San Francisco, but worried about the restaurant we’re supposed to have our little reception at. Hoping for all of our sakes life will get back to “normal” sooner rather than later.

I think it depends where you are I’m from ny where we are hit the hardest I was July 17 still getting married that day but moved a vow renewal and reception to October 25. Also something to think about is the longer you wait the harder it may be with vendors since so many people are rescheduling. Luckily the only vendor I lost was my DJ and quickly found a new one but it is something to think about. But it really depends where you are I just didn’t think it would be comfortable for people in July considering we don’t know what the restrictions will even look like at that point.

    Lachrista,

I have the same problem & my wedding is 8/2. Very few of my brides have or have purchased but the vast majority have not. When you look online (I picked dresses from DB), they give a ship date started at 8/27. I spoke to someone & they said that’s worst case scenario, but it makes things very difficult. It’s only a two month push back, but we are thinking about going into Oct & just doing an intimate ceremony if we have to. This is super stressful times for us all!

August 2nd is my original date Smiley smile. I’m praying for you guys because we are leaning towards Oct. Quite a few of my maids don’t have dresses 😢 & the estimated ship timeline is 8/27 at the earliest. Granted they told me that’s worst case scenario, but it still stinks. Usually the dresses come back within 30 days, but that’s a big chance to take

Yes very difficult. My dress will be here next month and I dont want to store it for a year. I have a call with my planner to look at postponing. There is no way I can get everything done by august.

I understand completely. I was excited to dress shop & went back in Sept 2019 (they were also having a sale). Fell in love with an option & ordered it right then. Been holding mine since Thanksgiving, so I definitely don’t want to hold on to it into 2021. Plus it’s strapless & is a summer dress, so are my maids dresses. This whole thing has me on an emotional rollercoaster! Hang in there
