August 2020 wedding

Lynne, on June 13, 2019 at 11:43 PM Posted in Planning 1 11
I'm getting married August 2020, but I'm already feeling overwhelmed. I have so much to do.

Anyone else have over a year to go and feeling stressed?

We're also August 2020 and I still feel like we have a long way to go but luckily our venue has a lot of the vendors already included so now it's not THAT much of hassle but I was like going insane beforehand. We still have quite a few things to do outside of that so my brain is on fire.

I had a year to plan and I definitely felt like more time would be nice. Remember to take breaks whenever you need

For me, if I feel stressed I just stop planning for a while. That has been the BEST part about having a long engagement. Built in procrastination time lol. I went dress shopping and then I had my fill of wedding planning so I did absolutely nothing for 2 months. You have time to relax. Of course some things are more time sensitive. As long as you actually do stuff slightly more than you don't do stuff you'll be fine Smiley smile

Veeeery close to booking our venue for 8/22/20 but we're nervous about the weather...really hoping for an outdoor ceremony but being in the Philadelphia area, the weather can be so unpredictable. I'm worried about the heat and/or rain!

We're scheduled for 8/22/20. Outdoor ceremony and reception in WI. I'm stressing some...mostly about the dress (I HATE shopping with a purple polka dotted passion!) We are DIYing most of it and doing the food ourselves and stuff. So I figured over a year would be good for planning and preparing everything...but now I'm deciding that maybe we should've had more time! lol I have the general idea down, it's just getting the little details and finalizing the plan so we can get working on making all the stuff...I suck at the details!

We are getting married at a barn in Central California 08/08/08. We got engaged at the end of January and JUST booked our venue and picked the date last week. I really only had been gathering ideas up until this point, but now the was have an official date and venue I feel like I can really jump-in and start planning. Just breathe, go for one thing at a time. Have you considered hiring a partial planner to help take some of the stress off your shoulders?
