Also an August bride! I feel like I should be doing more right now but it's just a smidgen too far away to finalize things just yet. I just don't want to be frazzled at the end of the summer because something slipped through the cracks

Samantha, that's exactly how I feel. I hate to feel rushed I am a planner. I plan all my family events so planning my wedding came naturally. It's so hard not to stress when it's your big day and I'm just stressing for no reason at this point. This is supposed to be the time I'm saving money and enjoying my family but clearly, I am not. lol

I am totally stressing. My wedding is on August 20th, I have most of my vendors booked except for the officiant. We just have a few stationary items and place cards to get through and that’s about it!


Let alone the fact that I got into a huge argument with my maid of honor (my sister). I yelled at her when she forgot to pick me up from the airport. I communicated to her that I needed her help to get the items for the bridesmaids boxes. When she couldn’t pick me up I felt like I was totally left hanging to figure it out by myself.
I called yesterday to apologize which turned into another full blown fight. She is “mind blown” that I yelled at her for forgetting to pick me up at the airport
When I tried to explain to her that it’s much more than the airport and more of her lack of effort, she exploded and said she’s done “so much” and that’s where we’re stuck. So idk what to do about my maid of honor situation? Do I get another maid of honor? I just feel so stressed about everything else.

1st let me say hey twin!!! 2nd girl you're on top of it... you go girl!! 3rd it's your sister and I'm sure you love her and can you really imagine her not being there? I hope you both can sit down in a couple of days when the tension has blown over and hear her side and she will hear you as well. we are all humans and we all make mistakes if she has been a good Maid of Honor other than that I would just say work it out. if you have a list of things she has done since wedding planning I would maybe look at getting another one but this could cause some issues in the family. I hope yall can work it out.

No your not im getting married August 26 2022 and i feel lik iam so behind and ikn i got a few months but the months are starting to fly by man

I was 8/20/22 but changed it to 8/27/22 because I took too long to book the venue I wanted but I’m not at all disappointed. I got the venue I absolutely wanted and love. But I was stressing at first with a planner, so I decided to fire her and do it all by myself and it’s a destination wedding. But what I did to help me cope with the stress is used my resources such as my bridesmaids and family and I hand selected those I know who will help me and only give necessary input when needed. Plus I prayed that everything goes smoothly. If you’re planning the wedding just to walk down the aisle and to be a bride you’ll stress. But if you keep in mind the true reason why you’re getting married, which is to join and be one with the person of your dreams forever, then you’ll have fun with it because that’s your main goal. That’s what helped me! Good resources and the perception of “it doesn’t go perfect oh well!” I’m still marrying MY MAN and will laugh about the hiccups later in life plus have stories to tell my kids. LOL

I got all my contracts signed in February, so now it is just planning meetings and such! I got an awesome all inclusive package with my venue, so I didn't have much to do! What about you?

IKR! My FH just told me today he wants to change the decor. So I'm like okay what would you like he said rustic glam that defines the both of us. I'm over here like what do you know about rustic glam lol he can barely dress now he wants a rustic glam wedding smh.

GIRL SAY THAT!!! yassss!!! lol, see my real issue is I'm a planner I literally panned my whole wedding in 3 months and had everything booked in the next 3 months. So now it's just doing final little details and paying stuff off. So now that I have time to sit and relax I'm going crazy lol which most people would love to sit back and chill. Nope, I want to be doing something lol. Prayer has worked a lot. My FH just now decided he wanted to change our theme. We were originally doing a beach theme but he said he wants it to feel more like us so he wants a rustic glam wedding lol... I guess it gives me something to do lol but now I need to meet with my decor lady again.

We looked at some all-inclusive packages but we loved over caterer and he wasn't on anyone's approved list because he is a new caterer. yes, that's pretty much what I'm doing now planning meetings to discuss our vision.
