Hello all,

We are planning on getting married on August 7th and leaving for our honeymoon in Maui on the 8th right away for the following 8 days (hopefully).

Anyone else in August or late July stressed about wedding cancelations after hearing this could be going to July-August?

I want to know if I'm stressing myself out for nothing.

My heart is absolutely breaking for those having to cancel or postpone their weddings due to this. I have been praying hard.

We’re getting married August 1st. A lot can happen until then. Even if Trump says this could last until July/August, doesn’t necessarily mean at that time things won’t be more controlled. There could be different recommendations at that time as well. And I also trust doctors, CDC and evidence based practice more than Trump. China was able to get through it. I’m just trying to be positive and pray that the US does too.

Mine is set for 8/22 and I’m trying to not stress over it yet! I am hoping what I’ve read is correct and this virus can’t survive in the heat. Praying for all of those having to reschedule.

Our wedding is August 22 and we are leaving August 24 for our honeymoon. I can’t help but worry about the “what if” if we need to postpone it all. I know it’s so far away but I keep hearing this is all not going to clear up until September.
I wanted to send out invites in June because we have some family that needs to make travel arrangements.

Who would’ve thought we’d be having to worry about this 😩

I keep referring to that as well, I hope it's true.

My venue emailed me back saying they will postpone our date if needed but they truly don't think it will be necessary for our date. I hope they're right!

I haven't heard anyone say until September!

I'm trying to trust CDC and other public health officials and not listen to what social media has to say with their opinions. I have our plan B set so I can ease my anxieties a little bit.

I know, I NEVER expected this to happen. Life is so unpredictable and we are in some crazy times right now for sure.

I hope things go as planned!

Yes, I am not trying to trust him and more so look to CDC and public health officials!

I'm trying to be as positive as I can and still plan on our set schedule.

I hope your day goes as you have planned!

I'm thankful we took action as we did but I wish people would take it all more seriously.

Good idea contacting people just in case! And yes I agree about all the stuff. I'm trying to debate printing our wedding invites now or waiting but we probably won't cancel anyway before they have to go out so I might as well take advantage of the down time now! Good luck to you also!

I would definitely wait for that 8 week period, I probably wont be doing ours until the first week of June or very end of May at this point!

Mine is August 1st, I just reached out to my Venue to see if they think we should postpone. I would hate to spend $10k on a wedding and nobody show up!

I'm getting married that day too and my fiance and I are also waiting to move in together. I am praying and hoping that this all passes before July gets here.

We are getting married August 8th and then flying to Kauai, so I'm in a very similar boat, trying to stay calm. Most of my anxiety around this is caused by just not knowing what will happen, so (without contacting any vendors) we came up with a few plans. Knowing all the possibilities helps me feel better, and it might work for you, too.

In case you're interested, here's what we've decided...
If everything is back to normal:We stick to the original plan.
If things are basically back to normal, but old/sick people have to stay home:We mostly stick to the plan, but livestream the ceremony to my grandparents.
If gatherings are limited to 50 people and the venue doesn't cancel on us:We go on with a limited guest list and invite everyone who got a save the date to a more casual reception later.
If gatherings are limited to 25 people (current MA limit):We go on with a limited guest list somewhere and invite everyone who got a save the date to a reception (hopefully at our venue) later.
If gatherings are limited to 10 people:
We slightly ignore the guidance so we can get married in front of just our immediate families.
If our (London-based) officiant can't make it: I'll ask one of my brothers to be temporarily ordained.
If we can't get a marriage license:That will mean city hall has been closed for 5 months and a wedding won't feel as important.

Agreed. Ours isn't until late August but by then I'm sure CDC recommendations will be more lapse. The US is behind with controlling the virus but we are certainly more in-front of it than China was at that time.

There is a chance you could be fine for your wedding, we are in such uncertain times so it’s hard to say one way or another. From a nursing and infectious disease perspective, I don’t see this virus going away any time soon and our country in shut down may either stop the spread or simply pause it. With that in mind, I would be prepared to postpone but stay positive and hopeful you won’t have to. Prayers 💓💓

I hope and pray that things are cleared up as soon as possible, hopefully at least by June!

Such a big moment that we've been planning for!

    I hope we are!

I'm in nursing school for my bachelors and my clinical are canceled and we're online the rest of the semester. It's had such a big impact on our lives - it's insane.

I don't see it going away anytime within the next two months or so, I hope the heat kicks in and it can help decrease the virus if anything and that people just are respectful and follow all precautions for the health and safety for others and so we can all get back to our daily lives.

We already have a plan be set in stone, i just hope we don't have to use it. All of our vendors we have booked are happy to postpone with no additional cost if it comes down to it.

We are definitely more in front of it than China, seeing China going back to their daily lives yesterday really gave me some hope that since we were able to act on it faster than they were and our government has set these precautions that it wont last as long for us.
