Hello all,

We are planning on getting married on August 7th and leaving for our honeymoon in Maui on the 8th right away for the following 8 days (hopefully).

Anyone else in August or late July stressed about wedding cancelations after hearing this could be going to July-August?

I want to know if I'm stressing myself out for nothing.

My heart is absolutely breaking for those having to cancel or postpone their weddings due to this. I have been praying hard.

I know I'm trying to stay positive myself. I too will be getting married in August. I'm hoping and praying so hard that everything will be cleared out by then. I keep trying to tell myself that everything will work out. My fiance and I have a lot planned for then. So, I'm very stressed about everything right now. So, you all ain't the only ones stressing out about wedding things. I know we have a very nice camping trip planned for our honeymoon so.

My wedding is only August 8th! Currently creating different plans just in case this has not all blown over!
But praise God for marriage. Praise God for bringing two people together. Whether our wedding turns out like we want it or not, God is still with us. God still knows what He is doing. God can still use us during this time. God can still be glorified in our wedding day whatever it may look like. I will be praying for all of you 💕 Abide in Him. When we abide in Him, we can reminded that He is there for us and He knows what He is doing. We do not have to be anxious (although in our flesh we want to be, I know I have been) because the ultimate goal and mission is for Him to be glorified, to live out His gospel, to share His gospel and to win many to Him. I pray that we abide in Him and press into Him even more during this time so that He may prune us and cultivate us to produce more fruit in us 💕

I really wish August 8th sounded safe, but just 3 months away everything I keep reading tells me to get ahead and reschedule the whole thing. Anyone else jumped the gun on changing the August date yet?

We are August 8th as well. We already set a tentative Plan B date for September 2021. In all honesty, I think we will end up postponing since we pushed pause on ordering invitations and any decorations, and we will not be able to do any of the traditional pre-wedding celebrations (shower, bachelor/bachelorette, etc.). I have also been stress eating, so buh-bye wedding diet and fitting into my dress! We are still going to wait 3 more weeks before making the official call, but at some point I just need to know so I can start living life again without this constant cloud following me. Also, our guests need to time to either arrange to travel for 8/8/2020 or not. If we go with our Plan B date, we will still have a small ceremony on 8/8/20 with 30-ish people somewhere local, but we will wait until next year to party so we can enjoy the company of everyone we originally hope would join us.

We have the same issue--our date is on everything! For that reason, as well as the fact that our date is our 3 year anniversary of dating, we have decided we WILL get married on 8/15...even if we have to pot-pone everything else and have a vowel renewal later.

My heart goes out to all the brides for 2020. My daughter had to cancel her bachelorette party in Nashville. She had to cancel her honeymoon in Aruba. Then had to cancel her wedding April 25th . So glad she got to have her shower right after that everything shut down. She had been planning her wedding for over a year. She rescheduled it for August 7th. At the time August seemed far away not so much anymore. You are in limbo. We live in Michigan and our governor is opening things very slowly so we have no idea how this will play out. We really aren't even in a phase. Good luck to all the brides that have weddings the rest of 2020. Who's to say next year will be any better. Staying positive in Michigan.

We just made the decision to postpone our 8/8/20 wedding in Seattle to the following August. We are already legally married and we did not want to risk our friends and families being guinea pigs (50% of guests are traveling from out of town) during this summer’s reopening. While this is not ideal by any means, all of our vendors were still available for the following summer and we ultimately feel relieved. We want the day to be about love & joy, not angst and social distancing. Hoping by next year we have much better hold on everything. Good luck to all you beautiful brides and please stay healthy & safe!
