I think people are starting to feel more positive since the cases and deaths are all going down. We just got an RSVP from a guest confirming they’re coming - ironically they weren’t going to be able to make it to our original date but can make the new one Smiley smile I had told everyone who had not RSVP’d yet that they can hold off until late July/early August. It got me feeling excited again. Smiley smile

I am planning on doing the same! Wedding is August 22 in California. What are the guest count restrictions for CA? Is your venue following all the guidelines? When are you sending out your invites- I was going to wait until first week of July. Good luck with everything! It's so helpful and comforting to see what all the other brides are doing.

Hey! I have not heard from our venue about any guest restrictions we are flying out next weekend to meet with our wedding venue coordinator and will know more then. I wasn't anticipating a large guest count to began with I am thinking max will be around 65 people. I sent our invites out last week because we have guests from Nebraska, Wyoming and California coming and they needed to know the travel and accommodations info. We are just ready to do this already haha 2 months to go ! Hope your planning is going well :-) what part of California?

We are also in California! Getting married in Northern California in Sonoma. We haven't heard anything about California restrictions for gatherings yet but I'd be curious to know if your venue is enforcing any guidelines like masks or no dancing? Praying the regulations won't be strict so we can dance mask free in September 🙏🙏

    Hello,
So I just went to my venue yesterday June 9th and we found out that they fall under the restaurant guidelines since they do catering at the venue. So all they asked for the tablets to be a part and to have my guest bring masks. But we are hoping that by August it’s eases up more

Hi Jelmi, that is interesting. Are you getting married in Northern California or somwhere else? Really hoping by August those restrictions ease up. I would also look into how strictly those rules would be enforced. Like maybe you can have a box of masks with your Monogram printed on them for guests to wear if they don't feel comfortable without one? Another option would be to ask the venue if you space everyone six feet apart, do guests have to wear masks.

My daughter is also getting married in CA. Wedding originally scheduled for June 20th was postponed to Aug. 1st in Alameda County, which is becoming a Covid hotbed and not budging on reopening, so just this week booked for same date next county over which has low numbers and will accept 100 for outdoor ceremony and reception. It is a 10 acre property, so plenty of room for social distancing. They will do temperature checks, seat tables according to "social bubbles", and is charging a $3.00 Covid fee per guest for sanitization. Our guest favor is a basket filled with hand sanitizer customized with label.😂

Hi Jill, that's wonderful you were able to find a venue large enough for social distancing! And hand sanitizer as guest favors is such a good idea!! Did the venue happen to say anything regarding requiring masks or prohibiting dancing?

They encourage masks but aren't enforcing it. Staff/servers are required to wear them. We will have some (using wedding colors) in a basket next to hand sanitizer favors for anyone who forgot or wants one. Dancing is permitted in "social bubbles", basically the person you came with at least 6 feet from others. We are also having lawn games: corn hole, Jenga, connect four for those not comfortable dancing.

Nice!! That's so great masks are not required but are encouraged. And even if you have to dance in your social bubble, I'd take it, at least you can dance period!!

We shifted our August 7th wedding of 50 in Aruba to an Air Bnb mansion in New Hope, Pa for 25 people. We were super transparent and our girls have even shifted our cancelled shower to the night before. We are using our dated favors, ordering local catering for 25 and now we have some touches we could have never had overseas. I'm excited again and simply can't wait. Our friend will marry us, my MOH's husband is a DJ and everyone agreed to get tested before arrival. I think it will turn out even better, intimate with only our closest friends and family.

    Here's to your perfect day!

If you are planning to ride it out, did you send out the invites already? Mines supposed to be 8/9 but I haven’t sent my invites out yet. I had all my invites ready to go for my original date so I don’t want to dish out more money for new ones until I know how many people I can have there. Is 3 weeks notice enough? I did send out change the date cards so everyone is aware of the new date.

I’m in Virginia and we’re in phase 2 which only allows events of 50 people. I assume we will be in phase 3 by August because our cases keep going down and the governor is supposed to talk about phase 3 on Thursday but I don’t want to send it to the whole guest list and then find out we can only have 50 in August too!

I'm in the same position but over in Maryland. We have 200 people invited, I'm currently rushing to get invitations out. My venue will not allow any August weddings to postpone/cancel unless paying all of the cancellation fees they are owed. So I'm pretty much stuck in moving forward. Although, if we are in Phase 3 there is no social distancing required and all restrictions are lifted. I believe Virginia will be very similar since the governors are working together along with D.C.

I saw this article about Maryland, however I know PG and Montgomery county have been moving slower than the rest of the state so I don’t know if they’re included in this.
