Anyone else doing something similar? At this point, what do we have to lose 🤷‍♀️

    Hey Jenna!
I’m getting married in Monroe county 8/28. But we live in Montgomery county. Our venue didn’t mention anything about no dance floors. Is this new? I couldn’t imagine having my wedding without dancing .. that’s a total deal breaker for me.

    August 22, 2020 wedding here and I’m postponed to July 31, 2021
Honestly so sad I loved the original date but things happen for a reason
We’re still getting legally married July 31, 2020 that way we have the same anniversary date.Crazy how things have dragged on this late! I would have NEVER thought it would affect my wedding

Hey! It's not necessarily for weddings, but any restaurant or club is mandated to close the dancefloor. I would make sure with your venue because ours wouldn't allow one. One of the reasons we are trying to reschedule!

Same! I am 90% done with my list and we had to postpone our 5/31 date to 8/16. It’s already July and I’m starting to get nervous again on if we will have to postpone for the second time to next year but I can’t fathom moving it to then. I’m so over the uncertainty and being in limbo! I think here in Colorado the restrictions are loosening more so I will need to contact our venue to verify if everything is still on track.

I ended up moving the reception from the venue to my back yard tented. I decided even with lifted restrictions I didnt wanna have what would feel like a dinner party. I think with no restrictions in our yard we will have a lot more fun!

So we ended up postponing the 8/1 celebration because we felt it was too risky to have 150 guests inside plus wouldn’t be fun without dancing and really partying. We’re having a “minimony” on 7/25 with bridal party and immediate family. We’re going to do a church ceremony and then we rented part of the patio at a local restaurant for a socially distant reception! I’m getting excited! My friend just reminded me there are only 15 days!

I’m in Colorado and our venue stated dance floors are prohibited. I am asking them to clarify because I at least want our first dance and father/daughter dance. We almost have our DJ paid off too so...idk. This almost makes me want to postpone until next year but I’m so over everything

If it helps, I’m in PA and my venue is not doing a wooden dance floor, however, significant dances are allowed (first dance, dad/daughter, mom/son). ❤️

Yes, that makes me feel better, thank you. I got a response back from our venue and that’s what it sounds like for us too. She mentioned that they won’t have a wooden dance floor to discourage dancing but if the guests do it just as long as it’s not close to the bar area they can’t make them stop. So it’s kinda a grey area and a “at your own risk” kinda thing. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I just changed our August 22 PA wedding from being an inside fire hall reception to now a reception in our backyard with a rented tent and rented bathrooms. Hoping our guest count of 60 will feel comfortable outside and praying for nice weather so we can spread out tables. I still plan on dancing. Who would have thought this year would have turned out to be like this, I’m nervous for next year as well

Great idea! We are in PA too and had moved ours from 5/30 to 8/8. We moved everything outside also - no wooden dance floor, but there will be various “dance areas” outside where people can dance as they feel comfortable! Hoping the weather cooperates as well! Good luck!

Moved mine from a venue to a tented backyard for the reception. The ceremony will still be at original location. Only 30 people invited to the reception, I will have a dance floor and there are no restrictions for wedding receptions at private residence, even though we are a mask requirement they do not have to be worn. Will be interesting to see how things unfold next year. Because they can't keep postponing life because of this. Meaning weddings, sports, all of it.
