Anyone else doing something similar? At this point, what do we have to lose 🤷‍♀️

California bride here, August 8th... Super nervous and conflicted about what to do. Should we work on a Plan B and ride it out? Reassess in June?

What are the rest of you all doing? My venue hasn't gotten back to me and I've already put down hefty deposits. Planning on a wedding with 150-175 people!

Maybe I feel a little different. Also getting married in fall, but honestly, we have a lot of elderly people in our family, including my mother. I could never forgive myself if they came, got sick, and something bad happened. We are very prepared to postpone the formal wedding if we have too. We told people if we postpone, we would have a zoom wedding regardless on that date or before. No use putting off actual marriage.

Make sure you guys check you vendors and venues policy. Ours won’t let us postpone until we absolutely know it won’t happen. Also, if we actually cancel, we aren’t getting any of our money back. So we will have to have a party at the venue anyway regardless.
Not stressing about it, but also hate that we know we won’t be able to make a firm decision until July. Most vendors are understanding and working with couples. Good luck everyone!

I'm getting married on 11/07/20. I will wait until the beginning of August to cancel or rescheduled anything. I just hope no second wave will come in the fall.

We just moved our June 13th wedding to August 2nd after 2.5 years of planning. I am not really willing to wait another year, so i am hoping things are at least semi normal here in Mass in August. I can't say i am not nervous about it though lol! I am just hoping to be able to do all the fun bride things like a shower, bachelorette, honeymoon etc., but as of now I am moving forward with my invites with the hopes it will happen. Good luck to all of you ladies!

I hope for all the fun events too. I am doing my bridal shower 6/28.. even if it has to be virtual. I called today about alterations. Not sure if they are even open. I left a voicemail and I am waiting on a callback. Best of luck to you!

New York State Bride here. As a COVID nurse, we are the busiest we have been since the pandemic has started. Our date is August 8th, with a backup date of November 28th. I JUST reached out to my venue about 2021 Saturday’s available. Cuomo cancelled the academic school year officially today. In our area that’s the end of June. We were also going to wait until June to proceed or postpone with our August date, but with this announcement. I feel like we should start to plan on 2021. 80% of our 200 guest list are from out of town. I feel as if we go with 2021 more of those out of towners can safely visit and attend. Our plan B date November 28th is a holiday weekend, again making it difficult for the out of towners. Also I feel as if people may not have the finances to attend a wedding during these two dates as well.

What a depressing time. I keep telling myself; if this is what we are complaining about right now, then life is pretty good.

    Hi!

So based on your governors phases you should definitely have a plan b. California won’t allow weddings until phase 3 and that could be awhile. I’m in Maryland and I’m waiting to postpone, just have to wait until my venue allows me to.

    Hi Twin dates!

Same boat here. I live in Los Angeles and I'm riding this until May 15th. I'll have a better picture of how it'll look like since that's when our stay at home order should be lifted. I'm hoping for the best and trying to remain excited. I'm still planning my bridal shower for July 11th, which should be less than 50 people anyway. I started browsing for bridesmaid robes and little details like that to keep me excited.

Yeah. It’s such a hard reality to deal with especially if you’ve been planning for a while! What date are you thinking of postponing your wedding to?

Oh absolutely. But at the end of the day I want the wedding I dreamed of and to make sure my friends and family are safe. I’m looking to postpone to the summer of 2021.

I’m June 27th and I’m fairly sure I’ll be fine so I would 100% ride it out. Would hate to have to cancel then start again

    Hello!

Our wedding is suppose to be that same date! Right now we are 90 percent sure on moving it to August 21, 2021. Everyone has been super supportive with our decision. We live in Iowa and have a lot of people traveling out of town, for us we just want to be surrounded by our loved ones on our big day. We are okay with pushing it back a year if that means hopefully everyone can celebrate with us next year! I think it should just come down to what your okay with! Restrictions will be in place for awhile, but if you have a smaller number of guest I like under 150 I think you should be good! I wish you the best of luck, and I hope your wedding happens this year!

Good luck to you! Yeah our guest list is at 96 and I’m okay with cutting it to 50 if we have to. Luckily we have very few out of town guest. At this point, we’re both in our 30s and we are ready to start our marriage.
