August brides

Rachel , on March 16, 2018 at 11:01 AM Posted in Planning 0 61
With less than 5 months to go, where are my fellow August brides in the planning process?
I've got:
Cake
Venue (includes catering/bar)
Dj
Photographer
Limo for hotel shuttle for guests
Invitations
Rehearsal dinner planned
Starting diy centerpieces and favors

Still need:
Florist (only for my bouquet and FH boutineer)
Alterations (not sure when to start)
Hair and makeup

Am I missing any thing?

Happy planning ladiesSmiley smile

Yay August bride! I’ve done all of the same except the limo. I’m still debating as to what I want to do for our exit or even if we want a big exit. As far as floral I found a great shop on Etsy! BellaFloralDesigns does beautiful silk floral at a great cost! If you’re planning to use silk. Alterations: my shop told me to schedule them about a month and a half before either bridal portraits or the wedding itself!

    Hi! August 31st here!
    we have so far:
    venue (including catering and alcohol)
    cake
    florist
    photographer
videographer (recent splurge purchase that I am SO happy and excited we decided to do)
    favors ordered
attire is all set - just need to schedule my alterations
    transportation
    honeymoon + flights
    bridal accesories
    rehersal dinner space booked
    officiant/Church booked for ceremony
    DJ
    HMUA
    guest book/card box/signs are done
    linens selected
    uplighting
    menu/details meeting was last week!

now I’m looking at invitations - both the wedding wire checklist and the knot say I should have ordered my invites last week but I feel like it’s still so early! I have samples that should be arriving today from minted so we can decide what we like.

I got mine off Ebay. It was a boutique who was selling it off the rack because it's not this season's dress. They have some great deals! Etsy is great from bridesmaids.

My wedding date is August 12th!
    Things I've gotten done:
    Booked
    -Venue
    -Officiant
    -Florist
    -Photographer
    -Musicians for ceremony and reception
    -Cake baker
    Also I have
    -bought my dress
-chosen the suits for our wedding party
    -written our vows
-put down the non seasonal items of our registry
-made a wedding website and have been updating the info on it regularly
-been to our food tasting (although have not chosen our specific food choices yet!)
-booked everything for our honeymoon and updated passports
And I'm sure many other things that I can't remember.
It says I'm 48% done as of now. Not too bad but 5 months feel pretty far away still. Anyone else have the same feeling? Wedding, get here faster!
Regarding alterations, I've heard your first fitting should be 2-3 months before and your last a week before. I have my first fitting on May 19th.

I feel like I'm so behind. I'm doing a DIY wedding so figuring out exactly what I wanted and then waiting for taxes to come in to purchase it put me behind BUT I do have:

my dress (No bridesmaids or groomsmen so we don't have to worry about that)

    my fiance's clothes

All the decorations are ordered and coming in

    Venu

    Reception Venu

    Photographer

    Invites

    Makeup artist

    Waiting on replies

Tent, table and chair rental place

    Officiant

    Need to get still

    Food

    Dancefloor

    Tent and tables and chairs

    Officiant

    Rings

    Hair stylist

This is our 3rd marriage each (don't ask) so the "reception" is basically going to just be a party. We're doing our own music with a playlist and sound system. We have to enlist a cook for the burgers and it's a byob. We'll provide pop and juice for kids and DD's. We have 5 kids between the 2 of us so there won't be a honeymoon so we don't have to worry about paying for that. I'm sure at some point in our marriage we'll have a honeymoon just not right now.

I am wondering though, my dress is going to need to be cleaned and altered. Who would you take it to for that stuff? Just any dry cleaner for the cleaning and any alteration place?

Wooo 147 days! Countdown is starting to feel like less of an eternity.

I'm doing my own fake flowers and bought them last weekend. I'm having on-site hair and makeup so I booked that in December but if you're going to a salon that's nbd.

My dress shop told me to call in May for a June alterations appointment.

I don't have invitations ordered, rehearsal details, or even ideas for favors together yet so you're ahead of me!

Have you thought about gifts for BP, parents, and FH?

I assume you have a timeline together based on how much you have done.

Planned your honeymoon if you're doing one?

Picked out your special songs, ceremony music, and do not play list?

    Ordered wedding bands?

Bought all of your accessories, underthings, and dresses for RD, shower, bachelorette, etc?

    Bought a cake topper?

    Have fun!!
