August Weddings - Postponing or still planning?

Katrina, on March 31, 2020 at 5:36 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7
Hi everyone,
My wedding day is set for August 8th and we are ready to send out our Save the Dates, but worried about the current situation. We thought about sending out notes with them to just let people know as of now everything is still planned and if something changes we will be contact. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on what they are doing? ❤️

Still planning!! We rescheduled our April wedding for August! If you feel more comfortable- then send out little detail cards stating that you will update on anything new, in case! That absolutely wouldn’t hurt! But I truly believe that no stat would survive if we had to be shut down & no events occurred for the next 5 months! I truly believe we will be fine in August 🤗

I rescheduled my April wedding to August! I truly believe everything will be okay by then!
I think you should send them, maybe with a little card with your wedding website that says something like “for updates check our wedding website abcdefg.com”

August 16th here Smiley smile We are still going ahead with the date. We're aware that in the worst case scenario, we may have to push it back - but I'm praying and hopeful that things get better far before then. Not just for our wedding, but for the world! Smiley heart

We're still planning for August 8th! We sent out save the dates in December, but I think it's still okay to do it now. It will give people something to look forward to. Also, it will allow you to send out the invitations a little bit later if you want or need to. If you have a wedding website and the URL is on the save the date, it might be helpful to put a note on the website saying that you're monitoring the situation, or something. That would be easier/less awkward than sending out little cards that say, actually, you should *probably* save this date.

    Hi Katrina,

I'm sorry you're having to think about postponing your wedding on top of planning your big day. While this is definitely an uncertain time, it seems like plenty of August couples are waiting to make postponement decisions. Of course, everyone's situation is different, so it never hurts to be proactive about plan B! Reaching out to your venue to determine options may be the most helpful first step--just in case.

Postponed my August 15th Wedding. I'm certain the day will still be impacted in some way and we cant risk that. We were very aware of making an early decision for a good date next year, which we now have. 1st May 2021 which is a Saturday and all vendors available. Me and my fiance live separately so even if the day could happen, we cant see each other during the weeks of lockdown so we lose out on so much planning and preparation. I'm devastated but also so relieved.
