I have discovered that my period will be in full swing the day of my wedding and not gonna lie I’m pretty irritated about it lol. But it’s whatever. I was wondering if anybody experienced that and how you handled it? Or anybody is going to be in the same position and how you plan on handling it? I can’t imagine trying to change a tampon in an 8 layer tulle fit and flare😫🤦🏻‍♀️ And my flow always ranges from light to heavy depending on the month lol. I’m not on BC anymore because I want to get pregnant so skipping it is not an option and while it’s not the most ideal, wedding night sexy time won’t necessarily be ruined lol. I just wanna know how to manage the actual wedding DAY with my unwelcome guest... thanks ladies!!

Hey everyone!! Thanks SO much for all your advice and input! I talked to my Doc and she recommended I skip it! I use Nuvaring and she made me a schedule that’ll give me a light period right before my wedding before inserting another ring so I’ll be golden for both the wedding AND honeymoon. And she assured me I shouldn’t have any issues conceiving afterwards or have any crazy hormonal changes. Sorry Aunt Flo...you’re NOT invited 😂💁🏻‍♀️🤗

I was so relieved to find I’m getting mine a week before. So sorry about the timing! Definitely try the cup because you get like 12 hours!

My 2 cents are to put the bag on the ground, step out of your dress into the trash bag, change the cup if you use it, do all your business, then step back into the dress and have someone zip/tie you up. It sounds like a lot of work, but it will be easier than trying to keep the dress out of the way.

So I’m hoping praying and wishing mine isn’t on for my big day. I’ve been on birth control for the last 3 years and I haven’t had a period. This Friday my birth control comes out and I’m not getting the same one and I know I will be getting my period back. I’m mortified that I will have it on my big day!

I'm also in favor of the cup. It's literally my favorite period product. It saves money and once you get used to it it's easy to use and pretty comfortable. I would recommend having either a thin pad or pantiliners when you're first starting to use it, just in case. The Cup can safely be in place for up to 12 hours without the risk of TSS, which is an added bonus (though, personally I empty it out every time I use the bathroom, just cause it's easier for me).

As for having my period during the wedding, mine is set to come either the week before, or the week of, so to avoid that I will be getting on the pill to avoid it for that month. I have a really heavy flow, so I'm not taking any chances with my dress and potential leaks.

This is one moment I am glad I had to have a hysterectomy early! I hadn’t even considered this might be a thing-
I am soooo sorry that you have to go thru this.
And FYI: Sit FACING the back of the toilet- so as the train/dress can hang over spot where the legs normally go.

Another one is to cut a hole in the bottom of a big blue Costco bag! Then you can use the straps on your arms and hold your dress up while keeping your hands free Smiley smile

I did a water detox last month and it throw my cycle off by 4 days. So now my period is going to be on day 2 the day of my wedding day next month! i have been considering BC but i got my tubes tied a year ago and not sure if my doctor will give me anything. So i was thinking about another water detox to throw it off another 4 days.

I would talk to your GYN about it. I went on vacation a few years ago and I called my GYN a week before because that is when my cycle was supposed to start. Unfortunately it was too close to my vacation to do anything about it, but had I called two weeks before he would have been able to give me something. There are certain medications out their that can delay your cycle.

This is the ONLY reason I decided to wait on getting pregnant lol. My BC has kept niagra falls at bay, to avoid a potential murder scene I decided to stay on it until I return from the HM. I can wait an extra few months for a baby lol

It will be shark week for me as well during my wedding. My period is extremely heavy depending on the day of it. The second day is the worst and that is the day that my wedding is scheduled for. It might shift cause I still have 3 months but if it does land on that second day, I will embarrassingly be in an adult diaper. Luckily, my sisters/bridesmaids are well aware of it being down during that weekend and will be helping me change during the day. My FH and I are waiting till marrage to have sex so he wasn't really bothered at all that he would have to wait an extra week after already waiting 4 years. I too have a ballgown dress so I don't have to worry about the bulkiness of the diaper. 😆 my FH also offered to help me on the day of but I told him we could handle it.
