Austin Rehearsal Dinner????

Ashley and Mayburn, on September 14, 2017 at 3:40 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 21

I swear, at this point we may not even have one.. Everywhere we've talked to is over budget. Anyone have any suggestions for rehearsal dinners in Austin? We want to stay around $1,000 but would be okay going a little over. Everything we have found is closer to 2,000 which i think is a little crazy.. I would really love to have a sit down dinner somewhere but know that may not be an option. I really don't want to do some crappy chain restaurant.

No BBQ since thats what we're having for the wedding.

Let me know what yall did!

Just order pizza and have some beer. It doesnt have to be a huge, elaborate dinner.

It would help to know what places youve already checked out so that fellow Austinites could gauge and compare to other places.

I was going to suggest Stiles Switch because it is my local bbq joint and i love the guys that work there, but wasn't sure of the cost. I did some googling and it looks like it could work for your budget

We really wanted to do Jack Allen's and thats kind of what we're leaning towards but its a little high.. We thought about cover3, north by northwest, Freda's, and foxhole tavern. We don't really want to do BBQ since thats what were doing for the wedding..

Guest count and places that you've already checked out would help to get the best answers for you

There's always Maudies, Swift Attic, Fujiyama (hibachi), Allstar Burger, Shady Grove, Hyde Park or Max's Wine Dive.

You could also do a rehearsal brunch and the prices will likely be a lot cheaper.

I have. I'm a huge fan. They have a really good fried egg sandwich.

Gotcha on the bbq thing. moonshine seems to have banquet space for 42 a person. i also believe eastside cafe lets you rent out rooms. and justine's has a super secret separate building for parties that i've always wanted to experience, but i'm sure thats $$$$

did you check both jack allens locations? i wonder if their price varies by location...

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Only problem with brunch is we have about half our wedding party coming from out of town.. that would be a great idea though! Maybe we could find a late brunch somewhere.

The jacks out at oak hill is the only one that does private events and preset menus.. they have room minimums that are a little high otherwise their prices really aren't bad! I love moonshines! I'll have to look into them too. I figured they'd be pricey but doesnt hurt to check!

The last time I went to trudys it was so bad I swore I was never going back.. which is a shame since its super convenient to our venue..

Jennifer - where are you having yours?

I have seriously almost suggested chuys hahaha its my weakness

Moonshines is awesome! You could also do via 313 pizza, Grizzelda's on the east side is fantastic! Or Guerros, there are a ton of options! We decided to do Terry Blacks, but we're not doing BBQ for the actual wedding.

Yeah I emailed moonshines, their minimum is $3,000 in case anyone else was thinking of that...

Some of our wedding party will be staying in dripping springs and the rest around round rock so we were trying to find something out that way..
