Average cost for photographer/videographer.

Please help! What is a reasonable cost for a photographer? I was quoted from $1500-$2800. To me that's a lot...to others, that's reasonable. And that's not including a videographer. At this point, videos from cell phones will probably suffice, lol!!!

Our photographer is $5,600. It includes two photographers for over 12 hours, our custom album afterwards, copyrights to all of our photos, 4x6 printout of every photo, online site for our guests to purchase photos, and an engagement shoot. My FH thinks it's a lot, but this guy's work is incredible!! I love that his photos were artistic and different before Pinterest ever existed (he photographed a few weddings I went to over a decade ago), and he actually gets good candids that aren't cheesy or staged. I don't think it's expensive for everything that's included.

In CO, the average price that I came across was about $2000 for one photographer for 6 hours. I lucked out and found 2 photographers who work together for 8 hours for $2000! Others I interviewed were as much as $4500 for their base package and $7500 for their highest package, which I thought was ridiculous. To me, $1500-$2800 is reasonable.

In my opinion, the pictures are the one part of my wedding that will last forever, so I'm willing to spend more money in this area and cut costs in others.

There are also apps like Veri where you can have all your guests join (it costs them nothing and you about $100) and all pictures they take during your wedding will be uploaded to a website for you. I've heard there are similar sites for free, and for videos, but I haven't done enough research. I don't think this is a replacement for a professional photographer, but it's an option.

He's paying 3,500 for both video and photography. The package also includes engagement session, full event video recording 8-10 hours of coverage, social media 5-8 min high lights.

We are paying a little over $2,000 for 8 hours of photography and two shooters, with a provided military discount that was very nice, I think it saved us about $400. Our photographers are a husband and wife duo that are AMAZING. Also, per my request, they are going to set up and shoot at our guests at our DIY photobooth several times throughout the wedding reception, which allowed us to have high quality photobooth photos without any additional vendor costs.

We paid $3500 for an engagement session and 8 hours of coverage (including second shooter for wedding). I spoke with several friends and they all paid about the same, give or take a few hundred for that. Our videographer was $1100 for 8 hours, but that was a total steal.

My advice: If you're going to cut costs somewhere, DO NOT do it on your photos. Everyone I've known who has gotten inexpensive wedding photography has regretted it.

I am so stoked that I found the photographer I did.

I get engagement pics, bridal pics, and 8 hours on wedding day with 2 photographers AND a videographer for $1400! I also get all pictures to do whatever I want to with them.

I would never pay over 1000 for photography, I dont care how skilled they seem to be because you just edit the heck out of a bad picture and you can seem like a good photographer. Weddings are expensive enough as is.

That was our most expensive cost. We had to hire 2 diff teams because our events were on 2 diff days in 2 diff cities.

I think we paid about $8,000 total for both days photo & video.
