Average cost for rehearsal dinner?

Kim, on June 11, 2019 at 2:41 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 11
I’m having a hard time trying to nail down a realistic budget for our rehearsal dinner. We are having guests travel and want to make it nice for them without being extravagant. What is an average cost? We will have at most 50 people there.

Where are you having it? Maybe you and your FH can go eat dinner there sometime and then multiply that cost by 25 to get a ballpark number?

We had around 50 for a bar casual setting with food and open bar. And it ended up being around 2500 after tipping.

Our rehearsal dinner is at a fairly nice Italian restaurant downtown. We're getting their whole back room, and having family style appetizers, a choice of soup or salad, and a choice of an entrée, plus soda/tea for everyone and 4 bottles of wine. For 22 people, that comes to about $36 a person, including tax and tip. We'll likely need to get more than 4 bottles of wine, so maybe $40 a head once that's included.

We have 70 people coming, and are spending right under $3,000. That includes appetizers & an entree, and two drink tickets per person at a local Mexican restaurant in a private room.

Thanks guys that helps a lot! We are falling at $1,600 before drinks for a room at a brewery, pizza truck, and catering company to set up and provide dish ware. It was a little sticker shock but it seems like it falls in line with everyone else.

We have around 20-25 and we found a nice place that has a pre fixe for just $15 a person not including tax and gratuity. Rehearsal dinners are definitely a sticker shock too, similar to wedding planning. I must have called so many places before finding this one. I guess when you think about it, it's still a dinner for a lot of people.

Our RD is family style with lots of farm to table options for $35.00 a person. That doesn't include tips or alcohol.

We had 33 people (I think) and it was $2,000 - $2,500 for table side ordering (predetermined menu - 2 salad options, 3 entree options, 2 dessert options) and an open bar.

We had 20 people. The private room had a $1,000 min spend amount. So, we were at least there. I think it was $40 per person. With alcohol (only for my husband and i, and in-laws I’d coarse. Everyone else paid cash 🤷‍♀️)tax and service fee I think we were closer to $2,000 (in-laws paid). It was a nice Italian restaurant and we got SO MUCH FOOD!

We really couldn’t afford to host another expensive party, so we are renting a shelter at our local county park ($350 for up to 8 hours of use) and having a picnic/cookout (shouldn’t cost more than $200 for food and beer for everyone) complete with horseshoes and ladderball. It’s going to be fun and I feel like it suits how laidback everyone attending is. Also, it will be over with 5 pm!! 😆😆
