Average cost of day-of coordinator?

There is no average. Do a Google search for wedding day/month of coordinators in your area and reach out to them for a consultation. Some have prices listed online and others don’t.

I found mine on wedding wire app, in the Vendor search for wedding planning. All of the ones for my area have their prices listed in their profile or on the website. I reached out to a couple of them and talked to one on the phone. I asked questions about what she does and her experience. We seemed to click and she sent me a list of referrals for other vendors, which was really helpful.

I found mine through my vendor. I’m from Maryland and I’m getting married in NY and I’m paying her $750 for day of coordination

The cost will highly depend on a few factors: location, number of hours, and services requested are a few of them. From what I've seen, day of coordination can commonly range anywhere from $500 to $2000+. If you're looking for someone to just keep things running on time, you will likely pay less than if you're looking for someone to do setup, coordinate the rehearsal, help plan/setup the rehearsal dinner, drive around and pick up things that can't be delivered on the morning of your wedding, keep everything running on time, and do tear down. One thing you could do to help keep the cost low is to negotiate. If a particular vendor offers services you don't need in a package, you could negotiate a lower price with those unnecessary services removed.

My venue provided a day-of coordinator who was FANTASTIC (some are just there in the interest of the venue but he went above and beyond for us, we loved him!), but if they didn't, I'm part of a wedding-related group on Facebook for my state where people sell their decor, ask for vendor suggestions, etc. - my MOH is also a day-of coordinator on the side and that's where she gets her business!

Our venue in NJ comes with one and she/he is to be paid $400-$500. This is the only fee not included in our all inclusive package (food, drinks, cake, ice sculpture, up lighting, gratuity and taxes).
