Hey everyone! I saw this article on FB about the average cost of a wedding by state. Not really sure how this data was collected, but it was interesting. Are you above or below the average? I’m definitely above (Louisiana)... check it out!...

We were slightly below average for Illinois. Of course, this dosn't take into consideration (or at least doesn't mention) The size of a wedding, so I'm curious as to what their average wedding surveyed would be! We had a 200ish person wedding and came in a good few thousand under that average.

So far I’m below Tennessee & Alabama! I’m from Tennessee but am getting married in Alabama so I have vendors in both states since the venue is right on the AL/TN line. 😊

I live in Nashville too, and we’re getting married in Alabama because everything was so expensive here! My vendors in the suburbs of Huntsville are WAY cheaper than anything I found in Nashville!

The NM state average is $18,470. We are coming in at a grand total of $6,500 and had a budget of $8,000 so we are well below average and below our original budget.

Even if we go over budget, we’d still be at half of the Texas average!

We will end up being just over (Illinios) but there is also a HUGE difference in price between the country, the burbs, and Chicago - which is where we are getting married. So I would imagine we would be close to average if you just looked at the city.

I would be curious as to what is included in those totals. We ended up about $6,000 over the Kansas average.

I feel like the average for Florida is much lower than what it really is. It also depends on where you are having it. Disney, the keys, or any beach really will definitely cost you about $15k for food and beverage but if you do something that’s not on the beach then I could say that is accurate.

I am right about average for Pennsylvania. I calculated everything up yesterday and told FH how much it was actually gonna be venue and all vendors and he said how. I said you! He wanted to invite all these people. I told him you better pray they don't show up.

We're doing destination (AZ) and it looks like we'll be about 7k below their average. One of the reasons we chose it. lol
