Hey everyone! I saw this article on FB about the average cost of a wedding by state. Not really sure how this data was collected, but it was interesting. Are you above or below the average? I’m definitely above (Louisiana)... check it out!

NY here - definitely below! Average is $34,315 and we're trying to keep things around $10,000. $15,000 max.

Average for California!! I was a little surprised to see that number but I guess it makes sense north California (where I live) is super expensive and way more than that number but south California is a lot cheaper so I guess that average makes sense

MA, but we are way over, even with being minimalist with most things. It would be interesting how they collected these. Prices for a wedding in Boston are very very different than the price for something very similar in the western part of the state.

We're way under for Kentucky (ceremony) and Ohio (reception and home state). I couldn't imagine getting anywhere close to those numbers for one day.

I hear ya! Are you Northern or Southern California? All of my family lives in Northern California so we decided to host the wedding there.
