Hey everyone! I saw this article on FB about the average cost of a wedding by state. Not really sure how this data was collected, but it was interesting. Are you above or below the average? I’m definitely above (Louisiana)... check it out!

WAY over. We are getting married in North Carolina and it states the average cost is 21K and we are at 35K and probably climbing.

My NJ wedding is above average unless that figure is for venue only (and I’m getting married on Sunday because it a more cost friendly!) I thought the average for nj was $60,000 (thank goodness I’m below that!)

California is huge and varied; I don't know how you could possibly make the claim that southern CA is a lot cheaper than northern CA.

We are below average (Maine- ~26K), but closer than I would like, lol! Our venue is veryy expensive, but it is gorgeous and we have it for 4 days and room for the entire bridal party to stay the entire time. And our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and brunch the next day, will all be at the venue.

I'm in NJ and I was 10k below the average! Having a Friday wedding at a hotel venue (included a lot in the package), getting cheap bouquets from etsy instead of a florist and getting invitations from Vistaprint during their semi-annual sale definitely helped us stay below average
