Average cost of your centerpieces in the Northeast?

And before you say "google it", I did, and came up with $30-$100, which is a huge price spread. And please, let me know if you did it yourself or had them done. I'm trying to decide it if it will more cost effective to be completely DIY, partly DIY, or just let me florist do them. Thanks.

S&P, I went to a friend's small shop in delco. I also went to high school with her daughter. She REALLY helped me out lol.

I'm getting married north of NYC but south of Hudson Valley, so I've been trying to use more vendors from Hudson Valley as they are much cheaper as long as they are willing to travel. I got a great deal on a florist, $115 for high centerpieces for hydrangeas and garden roses, and $85 for low ones, but we are considering switching to all high since the price difference is small.

I spray painted my bottles, so about $15 in paint, plus the bottles (paid about .20 per bottle) and we got free fence wood, which my fiancé made planter boxes with. Florist charged me $45 to arrange the flowers in the box, and $12 to arrange the flowers for 3 wine bottles per table.

We rented extremely tall black vases and ordered roses from Cosco. We bought floral foam and arranged them ourselves. It costed about $23 per centrepiece and they turned out lovely!

Didn't you post your centerpieces the other day?

You said you were just purchasing ferns? You shared that your FH is allergic to flowers. Are you asking about pricing for ferns because that's a completely different ball game than floral centerpieces.

    Katy, your centerpieces are adorable.

Brittany, I'm going for something similar to yours but with shabby chic lanterns and greens instead of flowers.

Thanks everyone. This has been helpful. I think its definitely worth the trouble to DIY. I thought I might end up with a lot of answers like "we expected to pay $30 a table but ended up paying $50, should have just let the florist do it", which is obviously not the case.

Jersey Jen, just saw your post. Yes, those. But it was suggested I add a greater variety of greens, and more 'something' (I'm going to try additional votives to make it less plain) and wanted to get a feel for whether or not this was just going to be a lot of aggravation for nothing. It seems like it's workable though. (BTW, the vellum worked MUCH better...my only issue is getting the photo ink to not bleed when I print on it).
