Average wedding dress size?

Dresses are sized very different, and each designers sizes are slightly different then the other. You can not go off the size of pants, full body measurements have to be taken into consideration

Same! I wear a 6/8 dress typically and had to get a 12. Same with my bridesmaids they're all twigs and they order 10,12+ in their dresses

Wedding dresses run small, and it's more important it fits correctly

I think it varies by designer. At one shop I visited I was told according to my measurements I was a dress size 6, then at the shop I bought from the size we ordered was a 2.

Don't worry about the number, it's the dress that counts!!

Your wedding dress and/or your BM dresses are made by measurements. Your street size is an arbitrary number thought up by the fashion industry to make you insecure about your body. I'm a street size 2-6 depending on the store. In patterns (same measuring system as wedding/BM dresses) I'm an 8-10. Numbers of the sizes don't matter, it's your measurements.

I wear a size 16 and my dress is a 22. They are way different and there's definitely no average.

Wedding dress sizes do not always align with street sizes! It's not about the number it's about how you feel in the dress! Don't let the number fool you because many wedding dress designers size differently than regular clothes! I'm sure you look beautiful!

You have to remember that most dresses come from other countries. All sizes mean absolutely nothing

I wear an 8 ordered a 12.... My Boobs made that decision..... I already knew going in that wedding dress sizes are not what you normally wear.... my wonderful oh so supportive mother (sarcasm) kept asking my bridal consultant what size dress i was trying on.... She refused to tell her by saying we dont worry about sizes in this shop! I love my bridal consultant!!!

They run very small, don't worry! I usually wear 6-8, and I was trying on everything from 10-16. It just varies. Don't stress.

I wear a 10/12 in street clothes. The size 16 dress sample almost fit me - but I couldn't sit down. I had to order a size 18 to accommodate my hips - no shame in that ;-)

I'm about a size 10ish and my dress is a 16. My MOH offered to take a sharpie and turn the 1 into an explanation point so I'm wearing a size "!6". Just an excited 6 haha.
