Average wedding dress size?

Yup. I'm a 4-6 and wear a bridal 8. They ordered you a size that can be taken in to fit you with alterations

I'm a 4-6 my dress is a size 12 in Hayley Paige but it's a little big! Wedding dress sizes are different than normal clothes!

I'm a 2 in street clothes. They told me that I needed to order my dress between an 8 and a 10, so I just did custom measurements instead. Wedding dresses tend to run a lot smaller, therefore a larger size is needed - it's normal.

Im a street size 00-1 and my dress size is 2! But i dont think theres an average size.

Eh! Don't even pay attention or worry about the dress size, let the store take you're measurements and order accordingly. No crime in a size 12 - gowns are all sized so differently.

@Kristin I am in the EXACT boat. I'm normally a 2-4 pants size and I ordered my dress in a size 12. It depressed me for a while until I looked up what sizes I would be in other designers and it varied greatly. It seemed like most designers fit me in a size 8 which made me feel better. Sometimes it's just the particular designer.

I am usually a zero, sometimes a 2. I ordered a size 8 and it fit perfectly (in the bodice/waist, the chest and cups were of course too large because that's just the story of my life). The store recommended me to order a 10 based on my measurements! Glad I went with the 8. So yea, that's just wedding dress sizes.
