Avg wedding budget... per zip code

Thanks to another WW member for posting this... my zip code says.. www.costofwedding.com On average, couples that live in or travel to East Lake, FL spend between $20,892 and $34,820 total for Market Summary Holy Cannoli ! I know there's a bunch of "stuff" I would like for myself that I haven't had...

Holy Cannoli ! I know there's a bunch of "stuff" I would like for myself that I haven't had the money for. But we are coming in just under $2500 .. then it says..

The totals above are based on the average number of guests estimated between 158 and 172.

I don't even know that many people (be that as it may) We have 8 people and my niece and nephew.

Is anyone else close to the avg for their zip code?

    Seriously! I don't even know 200 people and am far from wanting those people at my wedding!

    My FH and I spoke about it last week - even if we won the lottery we wouldn't have more guests and we wouldn't change a thing! The only thing we'd do is fly everyone in to our wedding! Smiley smile

    Wow, I am 10,000 under the minimum end of the estimation! *feels poor*

    Even with the same number of average guests, I am going for a cheap-o wedding. How sad! Lol.

    @Holly C.: I choose to look at it a different way. If we are way under the average for the average number of guests, that isn't sad--that just indicates we are much smarter than average. ;-)

    Well mine says 16,786-27,976 for a wedding in Phoenix, Arizona which is about where we are going to be at... maybe a little over, but this is the kicker... it says for 141-155 guests... we are going to have 250-300 so I guess we are "average."

    I fall into to the average dollar amount and guest count. Hopefully I can stay at the lower end of the average, but most likely I'll end up somewhere in the middle.

    Portsmouth, VA (where the wedding will take place) spend between $16,244 and $27,074

    I'm way over that figure.

    I fall in line with where I live: MD spend between $18,546 and $30,910 on the upper end.

    I used their cost breakdown to help me come up with my initial estimate and it was way BELOW what real costs were coming in. But, I guess you have to start somewhere and that was the first took I found that gave a breakdown.

    These surveys make me feel so much better about getting a wedding and reception for 100 people in under $5000. I think I did pretty darn good! My parents still say it is costing more than they wanted though :/ Oh well. I did my best. 5K isn't bad lol
