Baby Names

mrs.ford, on April 1, 2016 at 1:02 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 104

I was reading confession Friday and saw some baby names! Decided to start another thread about it because clearly it's Friday and I'd like to do anything but work. Me and Fh are planning to stop my bc a month before the wedding and TTC. We have names picked out. We are naming both boy or girl after grandparents/parents in a way. I don't think ours are too crazy so I'll share.

If we have a boy his name would be J Henry Ford. FH is Sterling J FFIL is Danny J. So the J has some significance to us, Henry is FH's great grandpas name, and also my dad and grandpa's name which I love.

Girl would be Katherine Lee Ford. FH's granddad used to race and they are very well known in the ginning business and everyone who knew him called him KAT. FH still goes to gins and older employee's tell him all the time he is a spitting image of KAT.

Anyone have some creative names?? If you don't wanna share I understand, like I said. Friday=no work Smiley smile

Our oldest is MaKyla Rose. Rose for both of our maternal grandmas. We're expecting our second in June and her name is Nora Loraine. Loraine for his paternal grandma. Had we had boys MaKyla would've been Jameson Andrew and the boy name for Nora would've been Logan Andrew. Originally DH wanted Thanos for a boy.

My son is Gabriel David. The G in Gabriel is for my aunt, Gail who passed on and The D in David is for my grandmother, Dorthy.

@Mrs Ostrich I love the name Nora. We could never use it because of FH last name (begins with an R) but it's so pretty!

I love the name Everly! I thought it was pretty unique until I found out that it's Channing Tatum's baby's name. I still love it though.

And Sawyer for a boy. Smiley smile I love this thread already.

Love the names, and the homages to grandparents. If we have a girl, we're calling her Adelaide - it's my grandmother's middle name. I have NO idea what to name a boy, yet. FH is British, and insists it should be a British historical figure... He loves Horatio......... ¬_¬ It's still a work in progress.

    ETA: Congrats @Mrs Ostrich!

FFIL is Jeff, my dad is Rey. Jeffrey for a boy. Bam. (Bam as in the onomatopoeia, not back and married.)

We are having a boy in August. The only thing we agreed on was middle name Andy/ Andi after DHs dad who passed.

For boys we narrowed down but chances are it will change because DH can't make up his mind:

Colten, Nolan, Gavin, Lucas or Oliver

    Girls:

Raelyn or Kayleigh and I liked Taryn

Also a lesson I learned. Don't tell people your name choices. (as in people in your everyday life). Everyone has an opinion. A bunch of strangers on the internet, sure!

Mrs. Ostrich your cover is blown lol.

We are having a boy and I've always loved the name Jack, but its become too popular. My favorite right now is Harrison but H is not on board. H likes Franklin but I am not on board.

It's a lot harder once there is an actual baby involved!

We've had our names picked out for a while. My mom had a stillborn in between my brother and I who's name was Kevin. My grandma who passed away last year's name was Carol, DH's only living grandmother's name is Ann, so we combined them.

    Boy: Levi Kevin

    Girl: Harper Carolanne

I love the name Brynn, @Darcy! I went to school years ago with a Brynnyn (a bit silly spelled out perhaps but it sounds so pretty).

I also met a girl once when I was little with the name of Brittania (brit-tanya) and I've never seen it anywhere else. FH probably wouldn't go for something like that but I've never forgotten her name.

They are both adorable but Katherine is super cute with playing off his nickname. I really like that idea!

We are doing something similar. My grandfather use to call me Izzy because he wanted my mother to name me Izabella. So her first would be Izabella. Her middle name will be Emma Ann, we are combining my grandmothers first and my mother’s middle name. So Izabella Emma Ann Adkins will be our girls name.

If we have a boy it will be JR…pretty easy lol

We have names for both but more set on a girl name. Girl would be Addison Jean but I've also thought of making the middle Bea. My grandma was Beatrice and I don't like that name but I think Addison Bea Bailey sounds pretty dang cute. But I've had Jeane in the plans forever because I am huge Norma Jean fan (Marilyn Monroe). For a boy we like the name Cash and he wants to use his middle name. All of my family names are taken by other babies in the family because I am literally the last to go haha

FH and I have talked about this periodically as well. We are in our mid-late 30s, so we will be stopping BC after the honeymoon.

I am in love with the name Harper for a girl, but FH doesn't love it.

FH likes the name Carter for a boy. I'm not in love with it though.
