Is it just me, or does this look so easy? I'm shopping for a florist, but now I'm wondering if I can pull this off myself. My wedding planner made a small comment about baby's breath being a little tacky, but she's seen it done well too...howeverI think this looks gorgeous. Am I crazy to think this...

Am I crazy to think this is possible to make myself? Its also a destination wedding so I have no idea how I'll get it out there. Shipping might cost more than a florist

Michelle - I live in NOLA. Order it from SAMS. The New Orleans Museum of Art is beautiful!

@Michelle of course it's a personal opinion. I've never really smelled them, I just went off other people's opinion. I ended up using a fake baby's breath but I also had roses in my center pieces.

I didn't notice a smell, but I had a large open venue, so maybe that's why? But I had a bouquet very close to me at the head table and didn't notice the smell there either...

As for destination, I really don't think it would be a huge deal. Baby's breath is pretty resilient, so if you have it delivered to the hotel the day before, it should be fine?

I think baby's breath is underrated. It's cheap and can easily stand alone and make an impact. Our florist put big bushels of baby's breath in tall mercury vases on half our tables while the other half had smaller arrangements. I thought with the mercury vases these were a great simple and affordable centerpiece. And they didn't smell bad at all!!

I've never noticed a smell. I like how versatile it is. You can make it elegant or rustic. Good option when you are on a tight budget.

My aunt actually tried to tell me the same thing and my response? I don't care, it's my wedding and if I wanna have baby's breath centerpieces, I will have baby's breath centerpieces! FW laughed at this bride-zilla moment but I was tired of her saying things were "cheap". I think baby's breath is beautiful and very versatile.
