Bachata in ballgown?

Briana, on November 6, 2019 at 1:50 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
I really really want our first dance to be stand by me by Prince Royce... BUT will we look stupid? My dress is a ballgown so no one will see me dance really. I don't really like the idea of getting a second dress because I already spent enough on 1 dress. Opinions?

My ex was a salsa DJ and that is how we met. Our first dance was also a bachata to Stand By Me by Prince Royce. I changed into a shorter dress. I think if you were wearing a more form fitting dress then you wouldn't really need to, but since you are wearing a ball gown, no one will be able to see your dance moves. It will look like you're just going from side to side.

As the PP mentioned, without seeing your feet, it may jsut look like a sway. are you ok with this? Or do you want guests to see your mvoes?

Well we're also getting the smoke machine to do the dancing on the clouds look and FH doesnt know how to bachata. I was willing to teach him but the more I think about it the more I think it'll just look silly. I just love that song so much! I'm not sure how it'll look honestly

If you love the song, would you consider dancing to a different version? It could be just as magical with the smoke machine! Imagine Dragons do a beautiful cover, look it up on YouTube and see what you think! The original by Ben E King is also timeless!

I didnt even think of other versions. I knew about the Ben E King one but no others. I will look into the imagine dragons one also. Thank you for the suggestion! I really like prince royce version because he's 100% hispanic and I'm half Hispanic and the song is a mix of english and spanish which would be perfect. Either way tho I love the song

Yes, that version is nice with the mix of English and Spanish, however, if you can't dance the bachata in your dress, another version may be best! Let me know what you think of it when you check it out Smiley smile
