Bachelor & Bachelorette party for 2nd wedding?

Kerin, on May 26, 2020 at 9:34 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 19

I'm not sure of the etiquette. Is it appropriate to even have a bachelor/bachelorette party for a 2nd wedding?

FH's best woman wants to have a combined party where the two of us are there and everyone else hangs out and has some drinks. My soon to be eldest daughter wants to do something, too, she just turned 21 and I take it as a compliment that she wants to hang out with me in public Smiley laugh LOL.

With most of the people invited to the wedding living at least 3 hours away from our daughter and the best woman, I don't know if it's even doable, but I also don't want to disappoint them by saying no off the cuff.

Suggestions?

Don't see why you can't have those. I've never read any etiquette against them.

I agree with the previous comments, no etiquette I’ve ever seen, plus any reason to celebrate (especially these days) is a go!! 👍

We had planned one. We were doing dinner and invite people -singles and couples- to go take country line dance lessons at a bar. A second or 2 bar would be part of it. The other option was axe throwing. Since it seems there’s lots of out of town people -no drinking and driving-maybe rent a suite or Airbnb for everyone to crash at? We felt if we did something out of town not many would come.

Listen you go and enjoy yourself. If they want to dote on you and spoil you, allow them to. It's your friends and family don't worry about etiquette. Especially if you are cool enough that your 21yr old wants to hang out with you lol

That sounds awesome! We took our daughter and her boyfriend axe throwing for her 21st birthday a couple months ago. It was a lot of fun!! I hadn't thought about a suite for people to crash, I'll have to look into that Smiley smile

    Thank you Smiley heart

Definitely need to do it, at least once LOL it was a lot of fun and, the bigger the group, the better. They seem to be really busy on weekend nights, but I think a lot of axe throwing places want you to make reservations.

I think let your FH's best woman plan something, and let your daughter plan something too! No reason not to celebrate with people who want to celebrate you.
