Bachelor/ bachelorette party nj

Mel, on November 14, 2020 at 6:56 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6
I’m nervous about the state shutting down again. My wedding is in April. My fiancé and I were trying to make life easier by having a joint bachelor/bachelorette party. It’s coming to the time to plan because we know our friends and family would need to plan to take off or find baby sitters... but what should we even plan in times of covid? It would be easiest I suppose to get a house to stay in the state but I just want to know if anyone else has suggestions or ideas or is struggling planning in these covid times. Thanks!

We are doing a virtual combined shower. Many of our loved ones refuse to attend an indoor party or gathering.

Or even an airbnb in the poconos. Something cheap and with a limited amount of people

Of all the times NOT to combine parties , this is it.
Feb or March outdoors is too
cold if you are in NJ. Someone from my husband's work just had an eve g out drinking and chat, old fashioned evening bachelor party at the 19th hole or whatever that is ,usually closed once golf season is over, but the Country Club opened that huge place for just about 15 guys, instead of the regular secod bar room they reserve for such things, because the bar room is small and close booths. But they put a max limit of 20 and moved in 2 pool tables in the huge golf bar space. They charged something like $300 for the room and staff, but after $100 for them putting a bartender on, they put the next $200 of the minimum toward drinks and bar food. Not the usual type bach among hubby's friends, but typical of the guys he works with to have a bar bash.

We’re not doing the combined thing. My bachelorette/lingerie party will have around 10 ladies. We’re going to a place where you can make your own candles. While they’re cooling, we’re going to have a nice dinner & lingerie party. Pick up our candles & be home around 8. That’s something my fiancé definitely doesn’t want to do. I’m not sure what he plans but my only request is no strip clubs.

Have you thought about getting an air B&B in Atlantic City? That was my husband and I plans for our joint one to go there for a weekend in June but Covid messed that up because everything was shut down. So we cancelled and got a refund

I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but we just didn't have a bachelorette or bachelor party. One of my bridesmaids, who was supposed to have her bachelorette party in May (2019), cancelled. Neither of us had showers either.

I would personally not be comfortable staying in a house with a group of people outside my "bubble" at this point. While this is purely anecdotal, someone we know got a house with friends for a little weekend getaway over the summer, and everyone in the house got sick.

If I were doing a party like that now, for an extended or overnight stay I would look into lodging where everyone could have their own rooms/space, and then get together for activities. Around here, there's an inn that also has individual cottages you can rent, and it's in the middle of our "wine country" with lots of local attractions. There's modified options due to COVID, but they still have things going on.
