Bachelorette & Bachelor Party

Imani, on June 8, 2022 at 11:17 AM Posted in Planning 6 24
We’re considering having a day pool party including my people and Britany people. From 3pm-7pm and after we go our separate ways to our ‘parties’. My question is there’s two options.

Option 1: We all go to a hotel that allows outside guest for a fee of $35. I’ve posted pictures. Really nice hotel, my sister has been before and they also serve alcohol. However, we would be there with the hotel guest and any other outside guest. (We do not plan to stay at the hotel).
Option 2: We rent out an Air b&b and everyone comes, it’ll only be our people. However, with this option I am a bit skeptical because I know most of not all air b&b don’t allow you to have parties. But, if we choose the option to have 10 guest (because we do plan to stay the night) I assume it would be okay, but it would cost more. Apparently there are air b&b that allow you to have a pool party, but I haven’t had much luck finding any. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you so much!! I said the same thing! And If we go earlier maybe we won’t have as many other people out there and we can still have a good time. This way everybody pays their own $35. Is that tacky?

Let’s see considering that I paid for my own bachelorette shindig I don’t think that’s tacky at all and most people would be inclined to pay it to hang out at a full day at the pool. Plus you don’t have the stress of cleanup and liability of an Airbnb. This choice seems very sexy and very much Divaesque like yourself.

Heyyy imani the first option looks very nice did you compare each price the hotel and Airbnb. Now the hotel may have some accommodations for you by using their hotel and Airbnb. And you both are ok with begin with the other hotel guest then do that. With the Airbnb you provide everything the food alcohol etc. But then you can have your friends there and you said that you are staying there.

Heyyy Monique! I called the hotel and they said for outside guest we’d have to pay $35 and we can swim all day. Even if we’re not staying at the hotel. The main thing is, I am trying to convince Britany that the hotel is easier and logical. She doesn’t want to do the hotel bc she feel like it won’t be ‘our party’ and she doesn’t want to ‘share’ with others that are staying at the hotel. Which I understand, but if we send out the weekend itinerary & include the cost for the pool party I think everyone would be okay with that. Bc if we do the air b&b that is us paying for it.

I really like the hotel! You may want to look into renting on of the little cabana areas so your group has a central spot to be at. Typically at hotels like this, they are an extra cost and not included in the price of admission, and you don’t want your guests trying to find random open lounge chairs to put their stuff! Also, double check on the pool hours, as I was shocked to see that some hotel pools closed early in Vegas!

You may also want to look into the price of drinks at the pool bar, too, before making a decision!

Thanks Natalie! I did ask them about the cabanas, and we’d be willing to pay for one. Their pool hours is 9 AM - 10 PM but we’d only be there from either 2-6 or 3-7, which could prob turn into 3 hours instead of 4.

Wait so no one in your wedding party is throwing you or Brittany a party. I thought that the bridal party and the women's men party that they throw the party for yall. Not you doing it yourself unless that what you and her but if the guest only have to pay $35 and you can swim good. Now if there hotel can reserve a section for yall then she may be happy with that.

I didn’t think about this, I’d assume they’d be around $13-17 bucks. Which could turn into them spending about $70 total. So is it worth it? Would you pay $35 to attend a pool party AND pay for drinks?

They are, that would be our later in the evening parties. We have mutual friends & my sister and brother are attending her bachelor party and her sisters are also attending hers, but want to do both. So we came up with a pool party where both parties can attend and go our separate ways after. But if we were to go with the air b&b option we’d be paying. I did find an air b&b for 12 guest and $314 a night but we’d only stay one night. She mentioned asking them to pay but I’m like that’s tacky. We can’t have them paying for the air b&b that we’re inviting them to. With the hotel, they can pay their own $35 which is still kinda the same in a sense, but not really. If that even makes sense lol

So I will work up until the day that we leaving and then work the month of the wedding until a few days before that so then I'll be taking maybe a week after the wedding. Then back to work I go if he doesn't try spring something on me I told him that I need to know so I can tak the days I need right. Smh lol lol

Lol right!! We have our last payment due in a couple weeks so I understand!!! I am hoping to take the week off after the wedding for our honeymoon - if not that Monday then Tuesday - Sunday. So we will see. I wish we could move our bridal party weekend up but we have so many people flying in from out of town we wouldn’t want them coming back and forth two times.

I'd be really cautious relying on an air bnb to hold your event. The rules are quite strict, and it would suck to get kicked out of that location! Unless you're up front about your plans but they'll probably charge you more.

The hotel looks awesome! Who is hosting this for you? Do they have an idea of budgets of the people going? For me, I'd totally be down for that, but everyone's money situation is different.

That was also my concern with the air b&b - Id hate to have a pool party and they’re like pack your things bc you all have to leave. They do have air b&b with 10-15 guest which could work but more money.

We are hosting our own pool party. The cost for entrance into the pool is $35 per person all day. We would also pay to rent a cabana & guest would also have to purchase their own alcohol from the bar. If we decide to do the hotel we will inform everyone prior to the wedding (at least a month before) that way they can plan accordingly.

Yes it would be good for people to know the cost up front. You can also be realistic in that possibly not everyone can make it to the hotel part of the event. If it's in your budget, you could consider paying the fixed cost of $35 pp. That way guests can determine if they want to drink and how much based on their own money situation.

That’s true. Because the main reason we wanted to have a pool party was to include both sides since we have mutual friends. We can definitely consider paying for cost or even paying for their first two drinks. I’m going to contact them again regarding the prices for the drinks just to be sure it’s in a reasonable price range.
