Bachelorette: Cruise Excursions

Shenea, on December 5, 2022 at 8:00 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 4

Hey ladies, I'm reaching out for your opinions about cruise excursion choice. For my bachelorette weekend, we've chosen to go on a 3-day cruise. Now, on the ship, we'll be together, enjoying ourselves, etc. Once we reach the island (port), I've made it clear, they are not obligated to leave the ship if they don't want to. Also, I'm comfortable with everyone doing their own excursions.
For example: I want to swim & pet stingrays, etc. Meanwhile someone else may be against stingrays & may want to go horseback riding. I wanted to leave the excursion choice/decision to them based on their wallets, their time, their fears, limits, etc. I've talked this over with someone else and they mentioned it's important to keep everyone together while at port and do the same things.
So now I'm here to gain your perspectives. Would it be best to allow everyone to choose their own excursion (together or not) or would it be best to pre-pick 1 or 2 excursions for all of us to do?

You could ask everyone to list three excursion options that they'd be interested in, and then if there's one that everyone has on their list, choose that! Otherwise, you could split into two or three groups, and each group does different excursions. That way, everyone still gets to do activities that they want, while still staying in a group.

When I read they title I thought “ugh excursions!!” But was so relieved when I read your post! I’d be totally down to go on a bach cruise but would prob want to sit out any excursions— I love that you have that as an option!

I think it’s important to offer everyone the same possibility (unrealistic example but if say there were 20 people on the trip and only 10 spots available for your chosen activity, that would be a problem), but I think it is very nice to leave the option open! Everyone can go with you if they want to, but don’t have to if they don’t. If they want to decide as a group that they all want to do the same activities, that works too

I don't love the idea of not giving everyone a say in their excursion choices but bearing in mind that it is a short bachelorette cruise and that people will likely want to group up anyway, but I think Lisa's suggestion would work really well - asking everyone to list their top three excursions and then pick the aggregated top three so that there is a degree of organisation while still offering flexibility and choice.

Let everyone pick whatever they want (including a "nothing" option).
