Bachelorette disappointment (bad party)

Tracey, on May 2, 2021 at 8:26 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 4
My bachelorette was this weekend. Started off on a super high note at brunch, bottomless mimosas were amazing & everyone was having a great time. The next hour or two we were walking around town looking at shops, going in bars, super fun! Then 2 of the girls went to decorate the hotel. The other 3 of us got super sleepy lying around so the vibes were kind of low but not bad. We got to the hotel, things were looking up until we tried to go to the pool and deep hot tub (the main reason we even got a hotel) and it was closed because some kid threw up in it. The hot tub and pool have separate systems but they still wouldn’t let us get in the hot tub.

So everyone was pretty bummed and the vibe was just really killed off. We kept trying to revive things, we were drinking but nobody was even getting super tipsy because the vibes were just weird!!!! Then one of the girls got in a really bad mood because her boyfriend was out late when they had to leave early in the morning for a long drive. So she was sitting in the corner on her phone visibly annoyed and upset and it was basically dead from there
. I’m not upset at anyone I’m just so disappointed because I imagined this being soooo fun and crazy and it just wasn’t happening. We have friday night casual get togethers that are WAY more fun and crazy than my own bachelorette was!!!! I just can’t help but be so let down and upset that the night went like that, I just want to go back in time but obviously I know I can’t. Now I’m feeling down about everything.

On the bright side, at least you had a bachelorette party.

Sorry you bachelorette party was such a downer, maybe try to do a girls trip post wedding. It isn't a bachelorette party, but nothing wrong with a little girls trip.

Hi Tracey, sounds like there were still good memories made during brunch and shopping 💛 things like this happen, believe me, life has its disappointments. Reminds me of Sex and the City’s Charlotte’s wedding to Harry - high expectations for the wedding and a bunch of little things just were not working out. I know it is easier said then done, but focus on the good parts - sounds like your girls get along great, everyone is introduced to one another and they all wanted to be with you - pool or no pool! I’m sorry it wasn’t what you were expecting and totally valid in your feelings. For what it’s worth, sounds like your tribe is really there for you, wild parties or just hanging out with drinks ❤️❤️❤️

I think your feelings are totally valid! Yes, you still had some good times, but it didn’t live up to your expectations, and that is extremely disappointing. It’s also really frustrating when one person brings the whole vibe down!

I would try to focus on the positive - it sounds like you have a good group of friends, for example, and try not to dwell on it. Maybe focus on the fun things you can do with your bridesmaids before the wedding (manicures, getting ready mimosas, etc) to bring back the excitement in this area.
