Bachelorette ideas in the east coast

TeamEJ2009, on May 7, 2017 at 3:18 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 21

My best friend and I are getting married around the same time and are in the process of planning our bachelorette parties. I have a few ideas in mind and would love some suggestions.

1. NYC Ideas (any recommendations are appreciated):

-rooftop bars/lounges/restaurants/nightclubs

-sugar factory - I heard it's a pretty cool place and the drinks are fun. Does it turn into a lounge/nightclub at night or is it simply a restaurant?

-sightseeing and fun things to do during the day

-hotels to stay at that are close to nightlife and restaurants

-"affordable" yacht parties. NOT private charters as they are crazy priced and we aren't that many people

2- Thousand Islands, NY

This one is a little more complicated because I have been here before but it was a family trip and I have no idea what the nightlife is like. CONTINUED

For the Thousand Island bachelorette, we would like to do a private tour of the islands and stop at Boldt Castle & Potter's beach. I've done Uncle Sam's Boat Tours in the past but it didn't stop at any beaches. We don't have a boat and can't drive one either so it's essential that the company provides someone to drive the boat.

    3-Finger Lakes, NY

All I can think of are waterfalls, wineries & lakes. I don't know which area would be best to stay at or if there is any nightlife around here. (I'm assuming there would be but I've never been there and it looks like a laid back, nature-based-activities type of place).

Doing a lot of research into this all of this as well but any ideas you ladies have are welcomed. Also, please feel free to suggest other ideas and locations in NJ, NY & PA. Thank you!

Are you planning your own bachelorette or are you and your best friend planning each other's?

It's generally frowned up, especially on WW, to plan your own pre wedding parties.

We are planning each other's but we are brainstorming ideas with all the girls about where we would like to go.

Edit: I'm the only one with a WW account so all the girls thought it would be a good idea to ask the ladies on this forum as an additional help about fun things there are to do in these places.

I'd say finger lakes depending on the time of year. It's gorgeous in the fall and wineries are fun!! Can u update your wedding date?

My bachelorette party is next week, my MOH and BM are planning it. We're keeping it local only because everyone is on a budget. We're doing a Discover Your Palette painting party, going to dinner and then back to my place for more fun.

NYC -> 230 Fifth is a rooftop along with Ink 48. Both are quite nice. For sightseeing I'm a fan of the Big Red buses. Great way to get a lay of the city then decide what you want to go back and see. Not really bachelorette party material though. Other ideas include Top of the Roc.

My girls are taking me to Thunder from Down Under! It was actually my request. LOL. They won't tell me anything else though, and I'm dying to know!

NYC area lady here: 230 fifth is somewhere I take those from out of town. Lovely rooftop that others have mentioned. If you want something in Times Square, R Lounge at 2 Times Square is a great lounge with the best Times Square view I've seen: best to go earlier (8pm?) for snacks and drinks just after dark before it gets busy.

Skip Thousand Islands for a bachelorette. It's a great place for a family vacation, as long as you want to go to bed at 9pm. We went on DH's family trip there last summer and got scolded for playing bocce (and drinking) outside at 8:30. Boldt Castle is great as is Potter's beach, but I would save it for a doesn't occasion!

Thanks girls. As far as 230 fifth goes, I heard the views aren't that good because there's a pretty high gate? Also, how is the bathroom wait? LOL Also heard the lines are very long. As far as 1000 islands go, my best friend says she doesn't care if there's no nightlife because that's not an important factor for her. She is more interested in sight seeing. The finger lakes are still being considered as a choice. Ocean City, MD and AC perhaps too. LOL

NYC & Philly would still be an option for something close though and a rooftop view is a must.

I'm from North Jersey so NYC was very common for me. My FSIL Bach party was there. We stayed near penn station, did bar hopping one night. Then during the day we did brunch in Soho followed by a pole dancing class. We walked through the city and then went back to the hotel. Got ready for dinner and club that night. Took a limo from hotel to those places.

I love the food at Tao lol there's also Buddakkan. Honestly, NYC is an amazing city. There's so much to do. More than typical tourist stuff. Central Park is beautiful. There are also Drag shows or magic mike type events also.

I'm now in Maryland and haven't been to OC yet. But I hear seacrets is an awesome place for bachelorettes.

I would not recommend Atlantic City though

One of my friends had her bachelorette in NYC. First, I would make sure everyone is cool with a NYC bachelorette budget. They can be expensive and some of the girls that went on hers were not prepared for the cost. As far as things we did - drag show, booze cruise, private room karaoke, high line, boozy brunch, dry bar, lots and lots of delicious restaurants and bar hopping at night. The booze cruise was fun, but it was a shit show. I definitely would not have enjoyed it sober. We went on one that we found on groupon - which might be why it wasn't exactly classy haha.
