Bachelorette Locations

Heather, on July 28, 2023 at 11:37 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 4

Hi! I'm looking for suggestions on where to have my bachelorette party this October. I want to stick within 4 hours drive of CT but other than that, open to anything.

Well you could head to Mystic or the casinos in Ct. NYC will have plenty to do. Newport RI or Boston are also great destinations. Warwick, Ny is beautiful in the fall if looking for a more laidback feel. Are you planning on making it an overnight trip and what kind of things are you interested in doing. Salem Ma is fun in October. Best of luck!

Whoever is hosting your bachelorette party makes the decision about where to go. You should not be having involvement in the event.

Heads up, Salem is fun in October, but also CRAZY. Hotels book up a year in advance, and traffic is nearly stopped all the time. To start planning for an October Salem trip now would be almost impossible

I thought the same!! My sister in law had a similar idea for Salem this year for mine too and I just thought logistically that would be really hard to pull off as it's July at this point. Definitely a fun idea but I'd imagine it'd be crammed too.

Heather, since it's October, did you want something more spooky? Something more fall based? Fun, relaxed?

I'd agree with SandyZV that traditionally whoever is hosting, or your bridesmaids, maid of honor, etc. should really be planning these details out! But I can relate in that I have a November wedding, looking to do something also in October, and so far have no solid plan. I kind of wanted to be involved in planning but also have no idea if anyone is organizing anything yet - and debate also wanting to be more surprised overall - kind of not sure who gets that ball totally rolling or the full etiquette of it all - if it's usually totally a surprise, if the bride has any say (I've seen mixed involvement of brides helping to plan their own or picking a place and also being totally surprised). I feel personally like my maid of honor should be wrangling everyone for that, and it feels kind of half weird to ask her to, but maybe not such a weird thing to ask to get everyone to coordinate some sort of plan(s)? My sister in law has more experience with planning weddings and would have a blast planning, so it'd be nice if everyone collaborated I think.

What was everyone's bach experience like? Did you have a say? Was it a total surprise? I feel lately I've seen more brides planning their own too.
