Bachelor(ette) Party a Weekend Prior to Wedding

Patrice, on February 24, 2020 at 2:34 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 8

Hi Fellow Brides! So with our wedding in May 2021 and literally a week after school ends for my son, we decided that our bachelor and bachelorette weekends will be the weekend before our wedding. Since our wedding is a destination wedding, we didn't want to try to squeeze so much into one weekend (it would be sooo overwhelming just thinking about it, lol) Here's our tentative intinerary:

Weekend of May **** - FH and his groomsmen meet in LA for the ultimate bachelor weekend. His best friend/best man lives in LA (and we're relocating to LA several months after the wedding) so it's only fitting. Meanwhile, the ladies and I are going to Las Vegas. #turnup!

May 19-22 (WEDDING WEEK).... May 19th, we travel to our wedding location (Ft Walton Beach Florida)...hopefully our wedding party participants will be able to join us on the 19th...but if not, definitely on the 20th...on the 20th, FH wants the menfolk to go on a deep sea fishing trip (my dad, my brother, his father, his brother, my son, his groomsmen)... on May 20th...the ladies are chillin' LOL and of course any last minute things to do for the Big Day... on May 21st, night before the wedding, I'm throwing a Win & Paint Party for my bridal party and here is where I will give them their gifts. May 22...the Big Day!

What do you guys think? Sounds pretty okay?

Sounds good and we'll planned....normally I would consider expensives bc of the back to back weekend with bachelorette wkend and then the actual wedding weekend however it's plan over a year inadvance so it shouldn't be an issue if everyone knows from now. Sound like fun fun lol

Have you discussed budget and schedules with your wedding party? You're expecting a lot of people asking them to travel and pay for a destination bach and a destination wedding all within a week of each other.

Yeah I was worried about finances too but my BMs are passport-heavy ladies and have always set aside “mad money” for events like this...originally they wanted to travel internationally and treat me but because the honeymoon is international —- and I’m just an over thinker, lol—- I asked if we could keep it in within the States, so it was their suggestion either Miami, New Orleans, or Vegas. They all immediately agreed on Vegas and I’ve never been so Vegas it is! Lol

I would also consider "recovery time" from your bach weekend to your wedding weekend. You will want to look and feel your best on wedding day and after a weekend of Vegas and then flying, you might be exhausted. Additionally, wedding week is a busy one with preparations and ensuring you have everything you need. Just my thought's but you know what's best for you and your group. Good luck planning!!

I think it sounds fine as long as the wedding party can afford both trips so close together. I will say the weekend before our wedding, I was busy the entire time. I got a facial & other body treatments, did my final dress fitting, etc.
