Hi there! I am the MOH in my best friend’s upcoming wedding. I’m currently planning a destination bachelorette party for her over Labor Day weekend. Her FH planned his destination bachelor party the same weekend as the bachelorette party which resulted in several of the girls not being able to attend due to child care/budgets/etc (their significant others are groomsmen and are attending the bachelor party). I know many were bummed to miss out but just couldn’t make it work. We have a great number able to attend (9 including all bridesmaids and a few non-bridal party friends) and this is her dream bachelorette so we are moving forward with the destination bachelorette party (The bride also has limited PTO so we can’t move dates and we want the long weekend since it’s a long flight).
So, I’m considering having a surprise (to the bride) night out in the city a month or so later with the girls that weren’t able to attend. One guest, who isn’t able to attend because she is unexpectedly having knee surgery the month before, offered to help host because she’ll be more mobile by then (not a bridesmaid but a good friend of the bride).
Is this a good idea? Too much? It’s not going to be a bachelorette 2.0 by any means but just a local girls night out to celebrate.
TIA for any input/advice!
