My wedding is in Italy in September. My friends asked me what I wanted to do for a bachelorette party...So, I told them that I thought a girls hiking trip to Colorado would be cool.

First off I plan on fully funding my portion of the trip but I chose Colorado because 1. I love nature and hiking. 2. The people I’d like to come live all over and flights there seem to be fairly cheap from most places.

The responses I got were either deafening silence or backlash because of the cost of yet another flight/hotel....which I understand - but I’m not sure what else to suggest since everyone lives all over the USA.

I told them Id be down for other ideas if they had any, but no one is really piping up.

Cities I’m working with include:
Houston texas
Dallas texas
Savannah georgia
seattle Washington
new orleans, Louisiana
tampa, florida

Any advise for what to do, or advise on how to get people to start suggesting ideas

DW wedding in Vegas and doing a Bachelorette in Vegas 2 nights prior. Half of my girls attending wanted to do something at home but it's so not convenient for 1/2 of my bridal party and I want to accommodate them because they are already spending money to be at our wedding.

My FH's best man is set on a bachelor party here (which works because he has some friends that won't be attending) so I'm just having all the ladies come to my house for a cook out that night but not calling it a bachelorette.

Honestly they are spending money for a DW wedding I can't imagine also having a destination bachelorette. If you do something where you live they can probably all sleep at friends/relatives houses if they choose to fly/drive in for it.

Edit: Side note I'm not planning but when MOH brought it up this is what I told her and she agreed it sounded better

My ladies were all pretty spread out, and also 2 recently went back to school so time and $ were tight. i told the friends who planned it to make it as cheap and easy as possible, and i also understood that not everyone would be able to make it, and that was ok. they planned a night in a fancy hotel in the city where the majority of our pals live (only about a 45 min train ride from where i and my BFF live, so it was manageable). 2 of my BMs didn't make it, but i fully got their reasons. i think the key in all this is to make the event accessible for your friends...a lovely night out once you all get to Italy should be more than enough.
