Bachelorette party groceries!

Nicole, on February 20, 2021 at 12:02 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 7

Hello! My sister (MOH) and I are trying to finalize the pricing for my bachelorette party. It will be from a Thursday night to Sunday morning. We are thinking the basics: alcohol, breakfast sandwiches, fruit, cereal, subs, chips, frozen pizzas, cookies, bagels, etc. I have 20 girls going to a lake house, how much do you think we should charge per person? Thanks!!

Can you do a pricing visit at Costco? Divide that by the number of guests

My MOH literally made an itinerary for my bachelorette and figured out when we would be at our condo, and what meals needed to be prepared there! For example, we have reservations for every meal except for one brunch the last day we are there. So we divided up brunch food pricing between everyone. And then little things like champagne for when we get there, seltzer’s for pregaming etc.
I would say to first of all decide when you would be eating at the lake house. If it’s each meal, I would try to meal plan and get a number from there!
    But don’t forget alcohol!!!

I would just go shopping with your MOH and then split the bill with everyone after! That way, there isn't any guessing, you don't have left over money or end up short, and your BMs don't feel like they're getting ripped off in any way since the receipt is right in front of them. Just come up with an approximate amount, e.g. $50 per person, and make sure each person would be ok with that approximate number so that it isn't a surprise. I would think ~$75 per person ($1,500 total) would be more than enough to cover essentially 2.5 days of the basics depending on how much alcohol/what kind of alcohol you drink.

I’d make a Costco run and charge the exact cost, even if you have to collect it after the weekend. If you’re eating all meals at the lake house, I’d meal plan every meal and buy exactly what you need for each instead of just random food. (Plus snacks and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including mixers! You may also consider asking each girl to bring one bottle of alcohol each, as well.)

I’d also consider a private chef one of the nights! That’s a really fun, special experience that’s usually pretty reasonably priced.

I agree with the others. Instead of charging people a set amount, split the grocery bill evenly after you've done the shopping. Also discuss with the girls ahead of the grocery store trip what they're comfortable spending (i.e. $50, $75, etc.) so that there aren't any surprises!
