Bachelorette party ideas when we have 1 underage bridesmaid

Christina, on September 18, 2014 at 2:09 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10

Hi Ladies!

I am having a hard time coming up with ideas for the Bachelorette party. All of the bridesmaids including myself are in our mid to late 20s. However, my cousin who is a bridesmaid will be only 17. I will have my friends coming into town from all over so we definitely want to take advantage of Atlanta's awesome nightlife but I don't want her to feel left out. Do you have any suggestions about fun things we could do or how we could handle this sticky situation without her getting hurt or us sacrificing fun? Thanks a bunch

When I planned my cousin's bachelorette party, we went to dinner then bowling because she had several underage bridesmaids. It was an early night, though. If you want to take advantage of nightlife, maybe you could do dinner then bowling then go out afterwards (your underage bm would have to go home, but she would have been able to do several things with you).

Try doing two parts. A dinner/early evening part (a show or something similar) for everyone - and then a later part for the over-21 crowd.

You could do a paint class. Y'all can start drinking, have fun, and then go out while she goes home.

I don't know if this will work in ATL but when I was underage and was in a bridal party, we called around to clubs/bars and talked to managers about how I'm underage and was the DD. We found 3 places that would put big X marks on my wrists in sharpe and would allow me to go in and dance with them without drinking etc. and then I drove us all home. Maybe a place there will allow that?

This happened in Louisville, KY where bars close at 4 am so maybe you'll have some luck there??

What if you made the bachelorette party not so focused on the nightlife and just do thtat at a different time that weekend. For the actual party, you could do the paint party or a pottery party, or how about six flags? Or go up to the lake and rent a pontoon boat for the afternoon?

Maybe make a day out of it. Get manis/pedis during the day and watch some chick flicks while you open gifts and catch up with everyone. Then go out for dinner after which your younger BM will head home and you and the girls who are able to will go out for a night on the town. Smiley smile

Here you can go to a couple of CLUBS at age 18, but couldn't drink. Most of them you have to be 21 though. I guess it depends where you live. I was going to suggest the bowling also! Though I break a nail or 2 bowling. If I were you I would do something fun with the 17 year old during the day, then go clubbing at night.

I know this is an old post but it came up when I was searching for ideas so I thought I'd share with anyone else. I went to a friend's bachelorette party the other day that included a 19-year-old. Everyone else was in their early twenties anyways, so this girl didn't look much younger. We went to a casino which had clubs, bars, great food, and entertainment, not just gambling. Although the girl wasn't technically allowed on the floor, no one bothered her. They carded everyone for drinks but not just to walk around. It probably wasn't the most exciting time for her to just follow us around but I think it was better than nothing and we did have a great time.
