Bachelorette Party Ideas

Ashley, on February 10, 2020 at 12:35 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 9

This past weekend my bridesmaids told me they want to start planning my bachelorette party. They want to do a weekend trip, just a Friday and Saturday night then come home Sunday. Naturally they asked me what I want to do and if I have any ideas of where I want to go. All I really want to do is just hang out on Friday after we get wherever we're going, have some drinks and chill. Saturday night go for a nice dinner and some drinks. I do love the beach, but I would also be fine with a house on a lake or something like that. Basically, I would really love to go somewhere near the water.

I live in Pennsylvania, as do all my bridesmaids and the few family members I plan on inviting. So obviously staying in state is an option. New York and New Jersey are also options, and we could potentially go to Connecticut or Massachusetts. My question to you all is: do any of you have any suggestions on towns/cities that would be nice for a lower-key bachelorette weekend in the tri-state area? I'm trying to do some research so that I could point the girls in a good direction, but I would love some opinions if you have anywhere I should look into.

I was just looking at maybe doing the Poconos. And Baltimore is a great idea! My FH and I were there one night before we left on a cruise and there was so much to do I would love to go back. Thanks for the idea!

My fiance actually suggested Mystic! He was there years ago and said I would love it. Thanks for the idea! I'll definitely look into it.

New Jersey is probably the most sensible beach destination if that is what you are going for. When is your wedding? The Jersey shore can be a bit much during the summer, but in the off season or during shoulder seasons in can be quite chill and really pleasant. Also NJ teens tend to spend prom weekend at the Jersey shore so if your wedding is during prom season I'd choose your bachelorette spot wisely.

If you like night life maybe Atlantic City? You could get dressed up and check out the casinos and the beach is right there. It really depends on what vibe you want.

Newport, Rhode Island would be an awesome bachelorette option and probably isn't too much farther from you than Boston would be, but that might be a hike depending on where you are in PA. There is an awesome walk you can do along the coast where you see all of these mansions and cliffs and its really beautiful. There's enough happening in Newport that there are great places to eat, bars, art, culture, etc. It can be expensive though.

I'd also consider New Hope or the Poconos.

My first thought was Ocean City for a beach weekend but we're going the last weekend in July and I have a feeling that could get a little crazy. I will look more into the Poconos though. Thanks for the ideas!

I'm coming to realize simpler is often better, especially when trying to coordinate plans with multiple friends from different circles. There are many awesome options in the Poconos. Good luck!

Hi! I am in NJ - you could do Cape May, it's beautiful & relaxed! AC you could also do and plan a lower key bach than the norm in AC. I would highly recommend Budakan for a really nice dinner if everyone likes Asian Fusion.

IF you want to do further south I would highly recommend Fells Point right outside of the Inner Harbor, it's amazing! Cobblestone streets and great bars restaurants, or Dewey Beach DE where we had mine was so much fun too!

I did think of Dewey Beach since it's a little closer for us. Glad to know it's a good option. Thanks!
