Bachelorette Party in Philly - Ideas!

Whitney, on June 27, 2018 at 11:20 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 8

Hey ladies,

My MOH/sister asked me for some input for the bachelorette party on a few things. We talked about a night/weekend in Philly a year ago and she said that is still the plan. It'll be end of September/mid-October. The only firm idea so far is doing a tour of Eastern State Penitentiary because we love all things creepy.

Does anyone have any recommendations for food, things to do, good bars, or if we should make this a 1 night event or 2?

Thanks!

Go to the south street strip there are a few restaurants and clubs as well. Penns Landing is not to far either, you ladies can have lots of fun. You can also go on a horse & carriage tour of center city. Philadelphia is a beautiful city and there is so much to do. Recommend 2 nights. Oh let's not forget to museums everyone must visit the rocky statue and run up those steps. Hope you all have lots of fun...

Hi Whitney! Philly sounds like a great destination for a bachelorette party! I've heard the Eastern State Penitentiary is so cool so I'm glad you all will get to see that. I would agree with Leyda and say to go ahead with two nights, that way you can get the most out of the city without rushing. I found a great article that has a bunch of restaurants and bars listed and thought I'd share! Hope it helps Smiley smile

Philadelphia magic gardens during the day time when they are open

    Old city to walk around

Bars in Old City, Center City or South Philly

Best shopping in CC on Walnut and Chestnut

South Street to Bar Hop at night

Penns Landing is fun if the weather is nice

Reading Terminal Market is amazing and a must stop

I live in Philly so I am biased but this is a great place for a bachelorette! I would recommend 2 nights. There are a bunch of good bars and restaurants on Fairmount Ave, right across from the penitentiary if you want to do brunch before/ after. London Grill is right next door and does a Bloody Mary bar on the weekends if you're in to that. Continental in either Old City or Center City (there are two locations) is a really cool place with a rooftop bar and fun cocktails. And Cuba Libra is great for mojitos and dancing! Also Helium comedy club is in center city and is a fun night activity if you want something in addition to (or instead of) bars. Nail bar or Drybar would be a fun getting ready day activity if you want to do manicures or blowouts (both offer champagne with your appointments). There are so many good restaurants you really can't go wrong! El Vez is fun for Mexican and across the street from there is Sampan which is an Asian restaurant with a really cool graffiti bar out back- but I would recommend just checking out Yelp for other restaurant ideas because there are a bunch! You're going to have so much fun!

Hey, Whitney! Eastern State is an INCREDIBLE tour! So many creepy nooks and crannies. And so much of it is untouched....v creepy. Smiley tongue

Besides that, my favorite part of Philly was the Magic Gardens! Fun and cheap to walk around. Definitely makes for some awesome photos! It's within walking distance of a ton of bars, too Smiley winking

I'm from the Philly area and am just doing a night out in Philly for my bachelorette party. One of the things I really want to do is go to Nail Bar which is a byob spa! I figure we can all get our nails done, sip on some wine or champagne, and get dinner after. Continental midtown is so good, so I think we will head there for dinner. Also, Philly has different red pedal bike tours now, where you can all pedal and drink beer! They do different tours around the city. If you're there during the day, go to Spruce Street Harbor Park, it's open through October, and they have different hammocks, chairs to lounge on, plus there is alcohol sold in certain sections. It's a cute little place to hang out.

If you like pho I totally recommend Pho Cali at 10th and Arch. It's good hangover food Smiley smile
