Bachelorette Party Location Ideas in January

Dlarkin633, on March 6, 2022 at 5:16 PM Posted in Parties and Events 1 11
Hi,

I’m getting married in May of 2023. Due to my MOH currently being in med school, the timing of when we can plan my bachelorette is very limited. She’ll have some time off in January of 2023 so likely that’s when we’ll plan it. The original plan was Vegas in Mar/Apr but that timing just won’t work now.
I’m from Minnesota…. So planning something fun in the snow/cold just won’t do it for me, and we’re still thinking destination bachelorette.
That being said, has anyone planned/been to a bachelorette party in January before? Any good ideas for locations that are (relatively) warm? Vegas is still an option, just no pool parties in Jan. I’ve thought of Miami and Scottsdale too, but I’d love any other ideas.
Thanks!

Are you girls open to going out of the country? Pretty much everywhere in the US can be cold in January, unfortunately. But I went to the DR in February and it was gloriously hot—Puerta Plata is cheaper than Punta Cana, but there are awesome resorts in both areas!

I’ve considered it, but any time you decide to do international, you cut out the people without passports. I’ll still look into it, it would guarantee nice weather.

Really? That’s good to know! I was reading Scottsdale has highs around 60+ in Jan so I wasn’t even thinking snow was a possibility.

Yup, that’s why I specifically asked if your girls were willing to go out of the country. For some groups it’s not an option and for others, it’s a given everyone has a passport.
Even South Florida can be iffy in January, unfortunately. You COULD have great weather, but it also could be 60 with nothing to do. FWIW, I got engaged in Vegas in December and had a blast on that trip, and my husband had his bach in Vegas in March and loved it (and that’s a group of guys who normally LOVES a good pool or beach day). I’d start vision boarding what’s most important to you—great weather, the most number of girls able to attend, etc. and then brainstorm locations from there.

Agreed. Honestly, it’s more important to me that I have the people I want there. The weather is secondary to my friends. I have heard Vegas is fun in the winter months too even the pools are closed. There’s always things to do inside the hotels. I think I’ll just end up offering up a few ideas to the group and see what location more people would be up for.

Thanks for the thoughts! Appreciate it!

What about a Airbnb and see if they have a heated pool and still have your bachelorette party or still go to Miami for the weekend. I did too wanted to go to vegas for my bachelorette party but 2 of my party guest scared of flying. But the rest have flown but dont want to leave them out. What ever you set on have a amazing time and if she may miss it you shouldn't not have fun

It’s so true—Vegas is a blast any time of year! You can balance hiking/doing a pink Jeep tour of Red Rock with amazing boozy brunches, shopping afternoons at the Forum or the Fashion Show Mall. There’s axe throwing, pole dancing, karaoke bars, clubs, simply just exploring the amazing resorts…!

You could do California and do like a "Retro Malibu Barbie" sort of theme! Miami would also be fun! We're doing a pool party for my bach weekend, but it's in June so I didn't have to get very creative with the location... I think that, especially if you're already entertaining a travelling bachelorette party, that going as far south as you can to a beach/destination where there are Airbnbs with pools could be a fantastic idea!!

What budget does everyone have for this? I would get a really good idea of time/cost availability before planning anything. Some of the destinations you're considering would probably need to be 4+ day trips. Is your MOH hosting it? What to they want to do?
