Bachelorette Party on a Budget - not far from central pa

Kalyn, on January 26, 2018 at 1:53 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 18

Hey there! I'm trying to help plan my bachelorette party for myself and my bridal party (6 total) and maybe a few other friends (10 at most). I wanted to do NYC, but my friends don't have a lot of disposable income and I don't want to stress about spending the whole weekend. Does anyone have good suggestions for something near Central Pa (we all are Lancaster based) that would be inexpensive for a group of 8-10? Any suggestions would be welcome!

How about a paint and sip followed by dinner at a nice restaurant?

I live just outside the city, so we went into the city for my bach, and got a big suite at a nice hotel for the night for $330. That's really very reasonable, IMO, to share between 6-10 people. We had 6 in the room. Instead of a whole weekend somewhere, you could look for a reasonable rate for a Saturday night, drive up early, and go back the next day. I go overnight to Philly all the time, completely reasonable to go from PA to NY for just one night. If that's what you really want to do, I wouldn't rule it out before doing some research.

If this is what you have your heart set on and they can't afford it, you should pick up the tab. It is not Kosher to plan your own bachelorette party, especially if the other girls can't afford what you want to do.

I didn't mean that I'm planning my own bachelorette party. I just meant that I'm helping them to narrow down a location/activity. I didn't want to leave them without any guidance, but I also want to be considerate of their budgets.

That's a great idea. I like the idea of us being all together.

Hi! I helped plan a bachelorette party for my friend in Lancaster last year. Similarly, most of the girls didn't have the disposable income, so we kept it local and "pay as you go" (vs committing people to paying for an event or something). Depending on what you're into, a few great options are:

    1) Beer and Wine Tours: Victory Brewing, Troegs, and SpringHill Vineyards (i think that's what it's called) are all great spots

    2) Depending on the time of year, you could do a day at hershey park

    3) kick off the day with brunch somewhere, or end the day with dinner!

    4) I also like the idea of sip and paints, of which there are plenty in that area

    5) Take a trip to King of Prussia - shop til you drop and do a meal!

Poconos? A friend just did that - rented a cabin with a group of girls.

All good ideas! I didn't think of a beer/wine tour - that could be fun! Thanks for the ideas!

We went to Jim Thorpe, PA for NYE and let me tell you the house we rented was so cheap and the area was soooo fun! I would highly recommend it to anyone for a quick get away!

I second the Poconos idea- we did a house there for NYE last year and it was so fun! Also Philly is really fun and definitely less expensive than NY.

I live in PA and I am doing a cabin in the Poconos, like people are suggesting. It's a fun way to get away with the girls without breaking the budget!

Poconos, Hershey, Philly. DC isn't too far and also has a lot of hotels and activities on groupon to keep the cost down. You could also look into Baltimore. There is a lot to do there.

Lambertville, NJ and New Hope, PA (right next to each other) are super charming towns with lots of shops, restaurants, and bars! There are B&B's to stay out our you could also stay at the Lambertville Station, which is also a fantastic restaurant. You could also make a trip to New Hope Winery which is always a fun and low-cost activity.
