Bachelorette Party - Putting on a show?

HoundMama, on January 7, 2013 at 11:29 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15

How many of you are (or did) wear something at your Bachelorette party to distinguish that you were indeed a bride to be? What did you wear?

I remember girls 10-15 years ago (when we were all 20-somethings) wearing veils or whatever, but I'm thinking at 34, something like that might look kind of silly? Thoughts?

I'll probably wear a veil or something, but honestly I'm so over those sashes/hats/tiaras that make you look 10 years old.... just my opinion though!

I'm just wearing all white. But, I know my bridesmaid will get me something that will say or distinguish me more as the "Bride-to-be"

I don't think it will be silly for you to wear something to distinquish you as the bride. Outsiders won't know how old you are!

@Candice - I had thought about going the all white route too - or maybe a white dress or something. I don't think I will be rocking a veil or anything like that though. Maybe a flower in my hair or something.

I love the new "little black dress" bachelorette party ideas. So grown up and sophisticated Smiley smile

I had a little birdcage veil I wore, and a sash. We had an 80s bachelorette party, so we all pretty much stood out! Smiley smile

I just wore my ring haha. The girls I was with had no problem announcing to most that I was the bride, especially a few drinks in ;]. At my house where we started, we had penis straws [glow in the dark ones might I add!], but I "forgot" mine when we went out. I don't know if that would count as being distinguished as the bride though now that I think about it.

Shoot, Houdmama your NEVER TOO old. I'm 36 and I wore a veil, but I took it off cuz it kept getting in the way while I was dancing. But I wore a sash, and a whole lot of necklaces and I had a Pimp cup too. LOL Here's a couple of pics.

At the last bachelorette party I went to, one of the bridesmaids made these awesome shirts that actually lit up! They customized the design for the bride, and then we all went out wearing shirts that were lighting up to the music in the bars and clubs. It was so awesome!! Such a unique idea. I think she got them from www.flashionstatement.com

I plan to be in a little black dress with a pink sash. I wouldn't judge anyone else for wearing it regardless of the age. It's your celebration.

FH and I are going to get t-shirts for all off our attendants for the parties. The girls will say "Team Bride" and "Bride", "Maid Of Honour" and "Bridesmaid" and the grooms will say "Team Groom" and "Groom", "Best Man", and "Groomsman". We thought it would be just a fun little thing to do for the parties to make us stand out.

I like the idea of wearing an all-white lace “going out” dress. I will probably end up with the sash, tiara, and drink that says “bride to be bitches.” That’s just my group of friends, and I know they aren’t letting me get off easy with this one…

The last bachelorette party I went to the bride had a black dress. But then we got her a crown made of purple penises, a white boa, and a pearl necklace. But then again, we went to a drag show so it seemed appropriate.

If we got out for my bachelorette party I think I'll wear a white or black and white dress, less the penis crown.

I like to think that I'll just be wearing all white but I know my MOH wants me to be as decked out as possible. I was a bridesmaid in an old friend's wedding a couple years ago and when we went out for her bachelorette party we got her a feather boa and a giant ring that lit up. She wouldn't wear either of them and was sort of bitchy about it. Just appreciate what your girls do for you and play along Smiley smile Obviously, if you're super against dressing up let them know before hand.
