Bachelorette party question

Brianna, on February 16, 2014 at 5:44 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 22

So, I don't want to do the huge party with strippers and stuff like that, but I do want to do something fun. My MOH keeps asking me about ideas for the bachelorette party and I really don't know what I want. I know that I don't want to do anything too crazy and one of my bridesmaids is 20 so I would rather not go to a bar and have to leave her out either. What are you all doing/did you do for your bachelorette parties? Does anyone have any party ideas that aren't too crazy?

If you're comfortable with drag shows those are fun. I'm not doing the stripper thing either so ill probably do the drag show its still a performance everyone keeps their clothes on and if you feel the need to give someone dollar bills you can do that with the performers

We're going to do dinner with the ladies (so family can come too, like my mom and grandma who won't want to party lol). Then the younger group is going to go to a club to dance and have drinks.

I was my sister's MOH and she had a bridesmaid under 21 so we went to a fun pub for dinner where we could all order beers but she wasn't too left out. Then went to the Cheesecake Factory for dessert. It was in downtown Denver which made it kind of fun and we all dressed up. After we went back and watched episodes of Friends. I had a really hard time figuring out something. I toyed with the idea of a spa day and also a pole dancing class (but I've heard those are super tiring). We wanted to go to a restaurant with live music and dancing but for some reason that night they didn't have any musicians booked but that would be something to look into as well (assuming they let in people under 21).

@jae I was also kinda thinking something like that too just a nice dinner for the girls and then maybe go to a hotel and have a girls night after.

I wish I could help but my bachelorette party is next weekend and I have NO idea what we are doing (aside from going to dinner SOMEWHERE).

All I know is that we will all be in little black dresses and I was to choose a "classy slutty" one.

We're having a tea party (next week!) My MOH, my sister, rented out a tea shop and we're all coming in hats and gloves. :-)

FH and I are thinking of doing a joint bachelor/ette party. We talked about spending the afternoon bowling with everyone at a bowling alley that also has a live band and serves food and then splitting up for the evening. Most of our wedding party don't know each other so we thought that would be a good way for people to mingle and still have fun. MOH and Best Man seem on board with that, and then they have control over our evening activities. What about a spa day? Do you like to paint? Maybe a paint party where you learn to paint a picture or you can paint your choice of pottery? A lot of those places will let you bring in wine but if you don't want to leave out your 20 yo bridesmaid you can skip the wine and maybe bring some other creative non-alcoholic drink.

My MOH works at Disney World and planned a surprise trip for me (so excited!!!!). So yeah, definitely not traditional or wild.

I'd definitely go with a restaurant where you could choose to drink if you wanted to, and that maybe had some kind of live entertainment. If you wanted more of an event you could do a kind of spa day or get your nails done or something.

@future Mrs. Pichon I brought up the idea of doing a combined party to my fiancé, but him and his friends have kinda a tradition of a weekend campout. All of the girls in my BP would love it, but I don't think he is in love with the idea, so I figured that I would try something else. My bridesmaid won't feel left out if there is alcohol involved, she doesn't drink anyway, so having alcohol there wouldn't be a problem, I just don't want to have it at a place where she can't get in lol. The spa day sounds really fun too tho!

@Brianna that sounds awesome!!! I would totally be down for going to Disney world (Disney land in my case) I haven't been there since I was in 8th grade

I don't like the whole stripper thing either. I actually told FH he wasn't allowed to have strippers, so neither will I. Me and the girls will be doing a spa day and maybe some drinks after at my favorite bar. But pretty low key, definitely not the "typical" bachelorette party I think.

We are doing dinner and then a haunted house or hayride. It's fun and just about any age can attend. Plus its not terribly pricey (for those on a tight budget)

One of my friends wants to do vegas and my other friend doesn't mind joining it, but for me and two other bridesmaids it just doesn't fancy me. I'm a club kind of girl, but not for a whole weekend! Id rather celebrate in the clubs in my city or go down to Los angeles for some fun, but My SIL who is also a bridesmaid will have a 7 month old and my neice will almost be 2. I hardly am able to stand to leave my daughter for a whole day so I don't want anyone feelling uncomfortable leaving their kids. Six flags and a spa day popped up in our heads... just gotta ask everyone else, but i think it would be super fun!

Me and my girls are having a spa day at the Princess. It's starts at 1030Am and you can stay as long as you'd like. We then will go to a hotel, get ready and go out for the night. If you do something similar she can join for more than half of the day. Just a thought!

Also. I don't know what side of town you're on but there are places that are a family environment oriented then turn to 21 and over after 10PM. Like Salty's for instance. But the good thing there is they don't card/ID people who are before 10. Only if you go up to the bar

My friend is getting married and she found a cool idea- it's a combo class of aerial yoga/burlesque/and pole dancing. Not sure if your girls would be comfortable with that or have fun with it, but I'm excited and know it'll be lots o' laughs...

For me, all I wanna do is go to the beach, get some drinks at night, and watch The Wedding Singer because it's my all time favorite movie.

I'm so anti-strippers for mine it's ridiculous..i would seriously get mad if one showed up!
