Bachelorette Party save the date with rsvp or without?

Vanessa, on June 4, 2023 at 8:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

Hi everyone. I'm in the middle of creating a save the date for a bachelorette party that will take place in January. It will require travel for all invited and to help with planning, I was considering attaching the RSVP page, but should I do without it since it's about 7 months away? Thanks for any advice!

If it requires travel, that requires money and PTO which they need advance notice for. By rsvp page, what do you mean? Can this be given out via text?

Destination bachelorettes are too often a burden on those who had no involvement in planning in terms of budget, date, and location , but are expected to contribute equally nevertheless. Too often, there is an implied pressure to participate.
In general, a final RSVP needs to be much closer to the date. Many kind of conflicts can’t be known this far ahead. Even wedding RSVPs dates are properly no more than a month ahead. But this should be more or less a formality if you’re all involved in co-hosting from the outset.

I wouldn't do an RSVP so far in advance of the bachelorette. Destination bachelorettes tend to be polarizing because of the financial obligation that it presents, just as a cautionary note. Do you have an idea of the general feeling of the group about making a travel commitment?

I would skip RSVPs. Bachelorette party guests can't commit to an event without hearing the budget breakdown per guest. This is best done with consensus so the host should contact the other WP members regarding their own financial abilities esp. post holidays. If you outprice your weekend, you will get a low guest count.

As everything is up in the air, I'd send a cute digital Save the Date w/o RSVP in festive spirit. This will also help you and your partner remain budget conscious.

You could handle this the same way people do weddings. You can create a Bachelorette website that has all the information broken down on it (date, time, location, flights, activities, price breakdown for everything, and a place to RSVP on the site, etc.), and include the link to the website on your STDs. Then people can easily access all the information they need to make an informed decision about whether they will be attending. Many people might not RSVP until closer to the date, but if there are people that know for sure they can’t make it, they may RSVP right away. However, I would keep in mind, if people RSVP really early, there is a chance they may end up changing their minds, having a scheduling conflict pop up, end up, not being able to swing it financially, etc. So I would suggest setting an RSVP deadline, and not counting anyone as a “for sure” for planning purposes until that day.
